o Darryl Outlaw is web manager o Check directory on website to make sure your info is correct; also contact if you find broken links, etc. Awards Program o 80 members/partners recognized in 2015 o 2016 winners will be announced today Joint Council of Extension Professionals (JCEP) o Now has 7 member associations, including ANREP Professional development o JCEP leadership conference ANREP held a joint mobile workshop with NACDEP and NAEPSDP ANREP tends to not have a lot of members attend, so rather than do our an ANREP-only association meeting at the conference, we merged with these two other organizations and did tour workshop o PILD & JCEP leadership conferences are open to ALL association members, not just the leadership Other Accomplishments o New state chapter: Pennsylvania o New ANREP Initiative: National Extension Energy Initiative o A Past-President Leadership development fund has been established. This year s silent auction funds, from items donated by ANREP Past Presidents, will go to that. Volunteers needed o PILD Planning Committee - 2016-2018 Kirsten Buhls - 2015-2017 Shahram Missaghi - Will add one next year o Awards Committee - Chaired by Duane Friend - Need more committee members o Communications Committee - Jamie Cohen is chair for 2015-2016 but she is stepping down - Need new chair and committee members o Financing and Audits Committee - Kris Tiles is chair - Need committee members o Membership Committee - The goal for this committee is to reach out to get more people aware of ANREP, the benefits some states have no members - Need a chair and committee members o Policy and Bylaws Committee - Chris Jones Chair - Need more committee members o Scholarship Committee - Andy Perleberg is chair for 2016, but he is stepping down
- Need new chair and committee members o External Support Committee - The purpose of this committee is to get outside sponsorship to keep biennial meeting costs down - Need chair and members o State champions many states don t have one check to see if your state has one o Value of serving: - National involvement - Get to know the organization - Develop working relationships and friendships throughout the nation - Great on resume - Increased networking - Increases viability of ANREP o How to volunteer to serve - Sign up while here - Contact your regional rep - Respond to email requests 2016 Election o Contact Dean Solomon if you are interested or want to suggest people o This year s election will cover these positions - President-Elect - Treasurer - North Central Region Rep - Northeast Regional Rep 4. Treasurer Report (Ramona Madhosingh-Hector) ANREP has six Different accounts, with a current total balance of approximately $104,000 o Checking - $38,100 o Savings - $29,000 o Conference checking - $16,500 o CD - $17,400 o Energy Initiative Account - $2,941 o Past President Fund - $2,950 Budget overview o We received more money than projected for both 2015 and 2016 o However, our budget has been impacted by waning of the Galaxy Conference (which has provided us revenue in the past), and we also lost money on Sacramento conference, so member dues were increased by $15/year to compensate for this. o 341 paid members in 2016
o We collect FL state chapter dues and then disperse throughout year though, so our fund balance fluctuates accordingly o Where does money go: - Travel for our representatives to attend JCEP, PILD, and JOE meetings. - Compensation for executive secretary and webmaster - Admin stuff like tax accountant, maintaining non-profit status, etc. - Support for 4-H programs and ANREP initiatives o We are trying to reduce reliance on conference income through - Donors - Sponsors - Fundraising o Past president s fund - Contributions come from past presidents only - The fund is to support professional leadership development opportunities. o Conference travel scholarships - Recipients this year need to be talk to Ramona to get a check. 2016 conference o Joint spending with NACDEP o $20k sponsorships received o 415 attendees - 175 from ANREP (updated number: ~205) - Gross $180k income from registrations and sponsorship o Our goal is to have $10k of net revenue after paying conference expenses 5. Executive Secretary Report (Diana for Bill Hubbard) Membership by region o North Central 115 o Northeast 60 o West 134 o South 191 Conference participants are evenly distribution across the regions Will be purging members from the books who haven t paid dues in a while 6. Professional Development Committee Report (Lara Milligan) In the past, professional development webinars have been quarterly based on needs assessment these are archived on the ANREP website This year we focused on the conference instead of the webinars We are now looking toward regional reps to do regional professional development activities Would welcome new committee members 7. Policy and Bylaws Committee Report (Chris Jones)
All members have access to the ANREP website, where a lot of info is posted There is also a Wikispace site with documents that the board uses Policy and bylaws handbook o Policies living document that is updated as needed o Bylaws need full membership participation/vote to update bylaws o P&P manual updates approved at May board meeting and will be posted soon after Kevin Zobrist finalizes some changes and formatting o We would rather have an imperfect document posted and available than not having anything while we wait to perfect it 8. Initiative Reports NNSLE Cathy Elliott o Focus is on improving quality of life and decreasing environmental damage o Cathy retiring in just a few days! o Ros Brain is taking over as chair when Cathy retires o The sustainability summit is moving from a western region event to a nationwide event, so next year it will be somewhere other than the west o There are sign-up sheets for people who want to join the initiative, or you can send an email to Ros Climate Science initiative Chris Jones o Established after the Alaska conference in 2010 o Looking to take on new projects o Webinars Two climate-related projects are featured in less than an hour o There are sign-up sheets to participate Energy Erich Romich o Formed in 2016 o This started in 2012 at a conference in Ohio looking at future energy challenges in next 50 years it was determined that we needed to get Extension folks more involved o The first National Extension Energy Summit (NEES) was held in Colorado in 2013, and participants wanted to keep it going o It was hosted by Washington State University in Seattle in 2015 - Participants reviewed different proposals as to how to more formally organize the group - Participants voted overwhelmingly to organize as an ANREP initiative o Conferences are in the odd years, so it won t conflict with the ANREP biennial conference o The third NEES conference will be in April 2017 at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville 9. Joint Council of Extension Professionals (Cynthia Gregg, Debby Matthews) Part of JCEP marketing, along with Diana o Debby National association of Family and consumer sciences
o Cynthia Gregg president of NACAA o Difficult to sell ourselves to NIFA and ECOP without the communication and coordination that we do through JCEP o JCEP advocates for Extension daily o Works with ECOP on budgets o JCEP works to represent us to the best of ability PILD leadership conference in DC annually, JCEP leadership conference in Orlando o All members invited to attend o Members are encouraged to do scholarship respond to RFP, present at sessions. Benefits of JCEP o Anyone interested in leadership o More tools for your toolbox o PILD hone your skills to talk with local, state, and federal policymakers after conference, opportunity to go to the Hill and talk to representatives o JCEP comprises 7 organizations we can do more together than we could alone.
