COMMUNITY MINDFULNESS PRACTICE Take a moment to join us in our safe and comfortable space for a free guided mindfulness and compassion meditation. These sessions may help reduce stress, improve your ability to concentrate, and enable you to understand your thoughts and feelings better. Please come as you are and feel the powerful benefits of meditation after each session. Our programs do not require any particular experience or beliefs and are available throughout the quarter. Guided Meditation with Dawa Phillips SRB Student Conference room, 1st floor, January 10 March 14, 1:05-2pm Mindfulness For Social Justice with Spencer Sherman, PhD South Hall, Room 1623, January 13 March 17, 1-2pm FOOD, NUTRITION AND BASIC SKILLS The Food, Nutrition and Basic Skills program provides students who may have a limited understanding regarding nutrition, food preparation, grocery shopping, and budgeting with increased knowledge and practical skills. The program consists of a free series of workshops in four tracks: Cooking and nutrition, Connecting to your Food, Budgeting and Planning, and Kitchen Basics. This program is provided to students in partnership with the UC Global Food Initiative. Free food samples provided. Any student that completes 1 workshop in each track will receive a free kitchen start up kit! NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY: Sharpening Your Cooking Skills Learn the way of the blade! Come practice basic knife skills and safety while building the perfect snack! No experience necessary.
