From your URCC Board We are very happy to welcome new resources to our team including two new board members and a grant manager. Joining the board are Jinny Pardee, local realtor and past secretary, treasurer and president of the Shady Cove Chamber of Commerce, and Greg Machado, local retailer with many years of supervisory and management experience. Debbie Glass, a relatively new resident with many years of hospital management experience, is joining our team as writer, strategist and manager of our grant program. We look forward to working with all of them and a big thank you to them for joining the team! Unfortunately we are losing a key team member, Colleen Lambert, our Administrator Manager. Words can t express how much she has done for the URCC and we will greatly miss her. The good news is that she has promised to stay involved!

Poker Run The URCC would like to thank everyone who made our 1 st Annual Poker Run a success. Thank you to all the volunteers, those who worked the registration area, the ones manning the card stops, all the kitchen help putting on breakfast and dinner, and the clean-up crew. Also thank you to Jeffro s Grill for the BBQ, MoJo Tribe and Diamonds & Denim for the music, and thank you to all the businesses and individuals who donated items for our silent auction. Thank you to these business for letting us have are card stations set up, Lost Creek Marina, Medco Ponds, and Butte Falls Park. And thank you to everyone who participated, we look forward to seeing you next year at our 2 nd Annual Poker Run. Teen Hang-Out Nights Thank to everyone who attended our first Teen Hang-Out night in June. We hope you had fun and will tell your friends. (free pizza & snacks, does it get better?) We are planning two Hang-out nights in July, the 13 th & 27 th. Please let us know if you have any ideas of what you would like to happen, games, movies, etc., we want this to be for you to enjoy. Sad Happy News Hello all, as some of you have heard and for those of you that haven t July 31 st will be my last day at the Community Center. That s the sad news, it was a very hard decision to make. The happy news, I won t be far away. I have accepted a position with Shady Cove School working with students. It is an opportunity for change that I am really looking forward too. I will miss seeing all the friends and acquaintances that I ve made in my time at URCC and hope to see you at events, I ll still volunteer, and around town.
