Third Biennial Melanoma Patient Education Symposium Saturday, May 18, 2013 Mayo Clinic Geffen Auditorium, Gonda Building, Subway Level Rochester, MN

The Stay Out of the Sun Foundation and Mayo Clinic Cancer Education Program, in collaboration with the Melanoma Research Foundation, are pleased to offer the patient education symposium on melanoma. This educational event is for patients, their families and the public who are interested in exploring the essential health issues surrounding melanoma. The goals of this program are to: Provide up-to-date information on risk factors, incidence, screening, diagnosis and prevention for melanoma Discuss surgical interventions, emerging therapies, research and patient care for melanoma Highlight medical options for treating advanced stage melanoma including innovative research trials Discuss the concept and process for providing individualized medicine in tailoring patient care with genomics Learn practical approaches to decrease stress and increase resilience Explore issues faced by individuals diagnosed with and treated for melanoma Symposium Location The symposium will be held in Geffen Auditorium located on the subway level of the Gonda Building, Mayo Clinic Campus, Rochester, MN. Exhibits in Nathan Landow Atrium (Subway Level of Gonda Building) Educational and research exhibits can be viewed throughout the day. The displays will provide information related to research, education, support and resources.
