VENEERING MATERIAL VITAVM 9 Working Instructions For all-ceramic substructure porcelains in the CTE range of approx. 10,5 such as VITA In-Ceram YZ CUBES For individualizing VITABLOCS Mark II for CEREC VITABLOCS ESTHETIC LINE for CEREC VITABLOCS TriLuxe for CEREC Edition 03-05 Teeth Veneering Materials Vita System Service 3D - Master Equipment All-Ceramics

Indication: VITAVM 9 is a fine-structure ceramic for veneering bridge and crown frameworks made of yttrium-stabilized zirconium -6-1 dioxide (Y-ZrO ) with a CTE of approx. 10,5 x 10 K, such as e.g. VITA In-Ceram YZ-CUBES for CEREC. 2 The VITAVM 9 materials excel by their refraction and reflection similar to natural enamel. The use of the fluorescent and opalescent additional materials enhances the esthetic results. Please observe the information in the corresponding working instruction (No. 1190). The VITAVM 9 ESTHETIC KIT for VITABLOCS for CEREC can also be used to individualize milled restorations made from the fine-structure feldspar ceramic Blocks for the CEREC CAD/CAM system with a -6-1 CTE (20- C) of approx. 9.3 x 10 K. VITABLOCS Mark II for CEREC VITABLOCS ESTHETIC LINE for CEREC VITABLOCS TriLuxe for CEREC Since both the basic ceramic materials as well the veneering materials exhibit a fine-structure. VITABLOCS restorations individualized with VITAVM 9 provide superb protection of opposing teeth. CONTRAINDICATION: VITAVM 9 must not be used for full veneers for copings made of VITABLOCS.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: To ensure clinical success, minimum thicknesses of restorations made from VITABLOCS Mark II for CEREC, VITABLOCS ESTHETIC LINE for CEREC and VITABLOCS TriLuxe for CEREC must be adhered to prior to individualizing with VITA VM 9. The following minimum thicknesses are required: Molar Anterior Veneer The thickness of a ground veneer made from VITABLOCS Mark II for CEREC, VITABLOCS ESTHETIC LINE for CEREC and VITABLOCS TriLuxe for CEREC should not be less than 0.5 mm to avoid distortion when firing on VITAVM 9.

Preparing of the individualization with VITA VM 9: Milling of the restoration in accordance with the CEREC tooth database. Minimum thicknesses must be observed. To obtain sufficient space for the enamel, the incisal margin must be cut back the required amount using a diamond grinding tool. Clean the restoration carefully to remove milling dust. Restorations ready for individualizing.

Individualizing with VITAVM 9 NOTE: By using VITA SHADING PASTE stains it is not only possible to characterize the outer surface of VITABLOCS restorations but also to add a shade, e.g. into fissures and mamelon structures, and to fix them by a firing process (see firing chart) before starting the actual characterization with VITA VM 9. This way enhanced color effect from the depth is achieved especially in cases of limited space. IMPORTANT: Prior o the application of the VITAVM 9 materials, modelling liquid (VITAVM MODELLING LIQUID) must be applied onto the milled restorations to achieve adequate wetting. Noncompliance will result in the fact that the ceramic material will come off the basic substructure. Individualizing with Effect-Powder and completing the enamel areas. VITAVM 9 is only applied onto the labial side. The base material of the VITABLOCS is retained on the palatinal side. Place individualized restorations with platinum pins on firing tray W.

Our application-technical recommendations (regardless whether they have been provided orally, in writing or in the form of practical instructions) are based on numerous experiences and tests. The user, however, should consider this information only to provide basic values. If surface, transparency and degree of gloss should not correspond to the firing result that is achieved under optimal conditions, the firing procedure must be adjusted correspondingly. The crucial factors for the firing procedure are not the firing temperature displayed by the furnace but the appearance and the surface condition of the firing object after the firing process. After the firing process, the restoration is processed (shaped) using diamond grinding tools. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Because of the formation of dust, a mouthguard must be worn or wet grinding must be carried out when grinding sintered dental ceramic products. Additionally, work should be performed behind a protective glass / screen and an exhaust system must be used. Individualization of the shade: Prior to individualizing the shade and glazing, the restoration must be thoroughly cleaned using a steam cleaning unit.. Glazing and stains firing with VITA Akzent or VITA SHADING PASTE is carried out in accordance with the table above. To obtain a more uniform luster, the restoration should be polished with rubber wheels and points prior to glaze firing. Completion (finishing) Mechanical polishing with diamond polishing paste (e.g. Dia-Glaze, Yeti, Karat diamond polishing paste, VITA). This interim edition prepared in cooperation with dental-technician ZTM Kurt Reichel, Hermeskeil. Photo's: K. Reichel
