Where money your goes... Dear Friends, icare Steve Jobs 1955-2011 Founder...Innovator...Chief Executive Officer...Visionary These are all words to describe the life of American icon Steve Jobs, founder and later CEO of Apple who recently lost his battle with cancer. Every day in Oklahoma, 49 people find out they have cancer. Most will never be tweeted about or mentioned on network news, but all are loved. All are heroes. All deserve the best. You can provide the lifesaving funding needed to reach out to these heroes: grandmothers, CEOs, spouses, teachers, sons, and daughters. Your donation to and support of the Oklahoma City Cattle Baron's Ball provides SO much to those who are in such need. Last year these funds helped provide not only research and education, but Oklahoma City metro patients received the following: 1,560 oneway rides to lifesaving treatments, 1,359 free nights in guestrooms, 154 wigs, 134 breast prostheses, 18 children attended Camp Live A Dream, and 382 people received personal health managers. 33% National Research, Programs, and Other Activities Includes grants, fellowships, nationwide 24-hour Cancer Information Center and Web site, and other national activities 3% Management 17% Fundraising iwill Declare that you will do your part. On August 17, 2012, Coles Garden will host our western gala. Last year, more than 300 friends joined in a night of live country entertainment, exciting auctions, delicious food, creative games, and our famous mechanical bull! All of us have seen the effects of cancer, so we invite you to put on your boots and join us as a vital partner in the success of our 2012 Cattle Baron's Ball by becoming a sponsor, donating items, inviting others, giving generously, and attending our 10th annual event! The American Cancer Society is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In 2010, the American Cancer Society Oklahoma City office received more than 17,000 requests for one-way rides to treatment. In 2011, with two donated vans and all volunteer drivers, we were able to fill 1,560 requests. In the first month of fiscal year 2012, we already provided more than 300 rides to treatment. With an additional van running, we can increase our impact. Together, we can provide lifesaving rides to treatment and help create a world with more birthdays. Each dollar donated to the major restricted gift directly goes towards the purchase of another Road to Recovery van. What did the American Cancer Society van program mean to you? "It made it possible to have my treatment without the worry of my car breaking down. All of my drivers were so friendly and after being apprehensive about my breast cancer diagnosis, they helped put me ease before and after each treatment. I'm grateful that the American Cancer Society has Toni Henry over their transportation program. She has helped make my recovery possible." Brenda Lynn, Breast Cancer and Lung Cancer Survivor 11 12

Together with our millions of supporters, the American Cancer Society saves lives and creates more birthdays by helping people stay well, helping them get well, by finding cures, and by fighting back against cancer. Stay Well We save lives by helping people everywhere take steps to prevent cancer or detect it early, when it s most treatable. Whether it s helping you quit smoking, providing information on what cancer screening tests are right for you, or through simple tips to live a healthier lifestyle, we turn what we know about cancer into what we do about it. Get Well Whether it s the middle of the day or the middle of the night, we re in your corner around the clock to guide you through every step of your cancer experience. The American Cancer Society saves lives by helping people get well by providing information to help make decisions, or free services like transportation to and from cancer treatment, or a free place to stay while receiving treatment far from home. We know that every cancer patient is a fighter and we re in the ring with you through every round. We help you fight for more birthdays. 13 Find Cures We have a long history of saving lives by helping find cancer s causes and cures. Whether it s discovering medications that help people live longer and better than ever, or pioneering and promoting the most promising cancer prevention or screening tests, we ve been involved in nearly every major cancer breakthrough in the past century. As the world s largest private funder of cancer research, we support the best ideas of the brightest cancer researchers, who with each discovery are getting us closer to a world with more birthdays. Fight Back We work with lawmakers everywhere to make this world a healthier place to live, and we rally communities around the globe to join our fight. Whether it s passing smoke-free laws, increasing funding for cancer research, improving access to quality health care, or inspiring communities to take up the fight, we fight on all fronts, because the lessons we learn from one battlefield can mean victory on another. 14 $500 helps provide visits to five women from the American Cancer Society s Reach to Recovery program. This program introduces breast cancer patients to select survivors who can answer questions and provide emotional support. How can you put a price on a child s smile? Camps for children with cancer run by the American Cancer Society let kids be kids. They swim, play sports, and enjoy other camp-style fun in a supportive environment that recognizes their special medical needs. And the kids attend free of charge thanks to generous donors. $1000 provides expenses for a patient to stay for free during cancer treatment in one of the American Cancer Society s Hope Lodge facilities located in major cities nationwide.
