The annual Christmas Holiday Party was a smashing success (isn t it always!) There were 120 members, guests and 23children in attendance. Mr and Mrs Santa had LOTS of help from the special elves that came down from the North Pole. Understand that Mrs. Claus was sporting a brand-new dress this year as well. Santa and Mrs. Claus brought gifts and hats for all children. Everyone in attendance had a wonderful time! Charity Committee Sunday, November 18 th several lodge members went shopping for dinner supplies for the Samaritan House, an organization that we ve bring supporting. We ve done this for years, and we buy everything for Thanksgiving dinner; ham, turkeys, potatoes, pies, etc. Once the supplies are purchased they are brought over to their facility in San Mateo. It s a great feeling to help out with this project. Thanks to everyone who participated.

TREATS RESPONSIBILITY Each meeting we bring wonderful treats to our lodge. Most of us just do it once a year, so it may be hard to remember what is required. Following is a checklist to help when you are bringing treats: NOTE: Treats budget has been increased to $200 which includes appetizers, main dish, and something for dessert 1) Sign up with Terri Stevenson e-mail: bobandterri@hotmail.com (or at a lodge meeting to arrange to bring treats) 2) The treats limit is $200, excluding drinks and paper products. They are already at the Lodge. 3) Arrive at the hall by 7:00pm 4) You will probably miss the meeting the night you have treats. If you need to report on something, get a helper. ATTENDANCE AND RAFFLE WINNERS: As an incentive to those who attend meetings, there is a name drawn at each meeting, and the winner receives a $$ prize. SUNSHINE CHAIRMAN, Sue Texeira, reports that the following wishes from the Lodge were sent to: NO CARDS WERE NEEDED OR SENT DURING THE PERIOD OF NOVEMBER/DECEMBER. FROM JOHN FRAHER, MEMBERSHIP CHAIRMAN- There are still members who have not paid their 2019 lodge dues. Join fellow California Lodge No. 1 members on Monday nights at Safe Harbor homeless shelter in South San Francisco! Looking for volunteers to serve dinner on Monday nights. For the past several years California Lodge #1 has been volunteering 2-person teams to serve a pre-prepared dinner to the residents at Safe Harbor Shelter. Volunteers are needed to cover 3 Monday nights, per month. It is a simple, but rewarding endeavor that usually takes about 60 minutes, per visit. There is no preparing of food, or even cleaning up afterwards. Everyone is invited to join us by signing up for the dates that you can serve.
