General considerations Prevalence and incidence of heart failure in Romania It is estimated that 4.7% of Romania's over 35 years age suffer from heart failure (about 650.000 patients). Almost 5 new cases of heart failure occur in each hour (about 45,000 new cases / year). Every year are diagnosticated with heart failure approx. 25.000 1 from 3 patients dies or are re hospitalised in the next year of the last hospitalisation 7,4% patients diagnosticated with heart failure died in hospital 9 from 10 patients don t know that they have heart failure

BTL- Advocacy Meeting at Romanian Parliament with Health Ministry, President of Health Commission of Superior and Inferior Room of Parliament, representatives of Patient s Associations. The theme was The Burden of Heart Failure in Romania.

BTL- Press Conference A round table was held at the Senate of Romania with the theme "The burden of chronic heart failure in Romania - an important challenge for the health system. The press conference was attended by 21 journalists from important media channels such as Prima TV, Realitatea TV, Radio Romania Actualitati Agerpres. After the event, a press release was sent.

The average survival over 10 years of a patient with heart failure is 20%. Professor Dr. Dragoş Vinereanu, primary cardiologist at the University Emergency Hospital in Bucharest, Vice-rector of the "Carol Davila" University of Medicine and Pharmacy and president of the Romanian Society of Cardiology. "Prognosis is worse than most cancers, given a relatively limited treatment. Additionally, heart failure involves the use of important resources from society for the treatment of these patients and for their social reintegration.

9 out of 10 patients do not know they suffer from heart failure. Associate Professor Dr. Ovidiu Chioncel, head of department at the "Prof. C.C. Iliescu" Cardiovascular Disease Institute, warns that: One out of three people dies or re-enters the year following the last hospitalization. 7.4% of patients with heart failure die in the hospital. 9 out of 10 patients do not know they suffer from heart failure. "

BTL General Public Romanian Society of Cardiology together with Rotary Clubs implemented Heart Failure Awareness Weeks" campaign, which aims to provide accurate information on the symptoms and causes of heart failure, as well as awareness of the illness risks.

In order to have more territorial visibility, 14 Rotary cities shared an informative flyers and press release locally, but also around the country.

Were distributed more than 14.000 informative flyers Awareness of the risk and correct information in communities, were the main goals of this manifestation.

Mobile clinic" on the streets of Sibiu May 2018, was the 3 rd consecutive year for an event held in Sibiu during The annual Congress of the Working Groups of the Romanian Society of Cardiology. The aim was familiarize the population with the clinical presentation of heart failure and with symptoms that interfere with daily life. The general theme of the event was "From risk factors to heart failure.

Mobile clinic" on the streets of Sibiu The manifestation included filling in anonymous questionnaires prepared by the European Society of Cardiology & Heart Failure Association conducted by Prof. Stephan Stoerk from Wurzburg and Mitja Lainskac from Maribor.

Mobile clinic" on the streets of Sibiu Apart from filling in the questionnaires, the subjects were familiarized with heart failure general image by a team of young cardiologists. Cardiovascular risk factors were addressed, blood pressure being monitored and lipid profile was advised to be checked in short time following the short discussion with the professionals in healthcare. Mobile clinic" on the streets of Sibiu This year, the event was supported by a team of young, enthusiast cardiologists coming from 5 major clinics in Romania, 3 from Bucharest (Coltea Clinical Hospital, "C.C. Iliescu Emergency Institute of Cardiology, Emergency University Hospital Bucharest) and 2 from Timisoara (Municipal Hospital and Rehabilitation Hospital).
