<Back Heart and Shield: A family violence prevention program Program Orientation Tuesday, February 5 th 5:30-6:30 p.m. Cooperative Extension Office 701 Walnut Street Please R.S.V.P. by Friday, February 1 st 9-week program designed to provide survivors of former domestic violence with skills and resources to strengthen family relationships. Parent survivors and their children ages birth-18 may participate. Parents enjoy time to connect, share, and support each other. Children and teens enjoy hands-on activities that are geared for their age. Parents learn about communication, children s development, child guidance, conflict resolution, and maintaining healthy relationships. Children and teens learn about friendship skills, feelings, self-control, conflict resolution, stress management, and self-esteem. Each meeting includes a light meal.
