The enclosed survey about Carers Assessments, Personal Budgets and Direct Payments is to enable us to improve our service to you by making sure your voices are heard. While we are all reading about cuts to budgets, this is a crucial time to express your views, so that you can help to shape the changes, which will most certainly happen. Pop it into the FREEPOST envelope when you re done. Anyone completing the survey who wants to give a name and address (you can answer anonymously if you wish) will be entered into a draw. The prize is a weekend for two at the Devonshire Park Hotel in Eastbourne, including travel, breakfast and evening meal. If you want to take part in the draw, the closing date for returning your survey is Friday 3 December 2010. The Devonshire Park Hotel, Eastbourne Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Manager Pat Williams was appointed to the post and the first Carers Action Steering Group meeting took place in September. Pat has also organised the Information Fair and Christmas Party and helped with the group holiday to Eastbourne. Carers Break Scheme Our Carers Break Scheme for 2010-11 has been updated. Please contact the office for an application form and a copy of the new guidelines. Carers Network administers breaks services to carers who would struggle to finance breaks personally. Carers can receive grants of up to 300 to take a break.
