WORLD-CLASS FACILITIES CLOSE TO YOUR PATIENTS Convenience matters and is an important consideration when choosing treatment locations, particularly when handling a stressful medical condition or long-term follow-up care. Accessibility and distance can be key factors in determining patient adherence to a prescribed care plan. Ohio State has more than 100 facilities across central Ohio and multiple regional facilities. This includes seven hospitals and 12 multispecialty community locations. In addition, Ohio State has 18 regional locations so we can provide care closer to your patient s hometown. Health care at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center includes seven hospitals: University Hospital: The flagship patient care facility has more than 600 beds. It is a designated Level I trauma center. It s also home to the most advanced intensive care units in the area, including a Level III neonatal intensive care unit and a comprehensive burn center. Brain and Spine Hospital: This 60,000-square-foot, 116-bed hospital includes specialized units for stroke care, neurotrauma and traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries and spine surgery, epilepsy, chronic pain, acute rehabilitation and neurosurgery. Dodd Rehabilitation Hospital: This facility is home to Ohio State s nationally accredited rehabilitation inpatient program specializing in stroke, brain and spinal cord rehabilitation. The program is dedicated to physical medicine and rehabilitation research, training and treatment. Ohio State Harding Hospital: This 73-bed hospital offers the most comprehensive mental health and behavioral health services in central Ohio in inpatient and outpatient settings. 10 I

The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute (OSUCCC James): The only cancer program in the country that features a National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated comprehensive cancer center aligned with a nationally ranked academic medical center and a free-standing cancer hospital on the campus of one of the nation s largest public universities. - One of only 49 comprehensive cancer centers in the nation as designated by the NCI, a designation that we have maintained through competitive renewal since 1976. - More than 200 oncologists, each of whom specializes in one type of cancer. This expert sub-specialization leads to more productive integration with cancer research and, ultimately, to better outcomes. - With 21 floors, 356 beds and more than 1.1 million square feet, The James is the third largest cancer hospital in the nation. - One of only a few cancer centers in the nation funded by the NCI to conduct both phase I and phase II clinical trials on novel anticancer agents sponsored by the NCI. - More than 340 cancer researchers from 11 of the 15 colleges at The Ohio State University are members of an OSUCCC James research program. Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital: This 150-bed facility is the only nationally ranked heart hospital in the area, according to U.S. News & World Report. University Hospital East: This hospital blends academic medicine with a community-based setting in a comprehensive outpatient facility (543 Taylor Ave.) and 200-bed hospital (181 Taylor Ave.) on Columbus s East Side.
