Memberships are available for purchase to special affiliates Table of Contents: (optional; suggested for policies > 8-10 pages) Definitions: (optional; suggested for terms that have specialized meaning in the policy) Term Definition Policy Details Fitness Center and Rec Gym usage are open to all Students, Faculty, Staff of St. Louis College of Pharmacy. Memberships are also available for purchase to special affiliates. All members must present and swipe a valid St. Louis College of Pharmacy ID to enter and use the facilities. 1

Members may bring one guest per visit. The guest fee is $5.00 per day, and they must sign the fitness center waiver. Members must be in the company of their guests at all times. Members are asked to observe the following policies which have been adopted to protect all users right of access to the facility, to ensure health and safety of all guests and protect resources from damage. It is strongly recommended that each participant have a medical examination and physician approval prior to engaging in any physical activity. Please notify the Fitness Center Staff if special circumstances apply. The Fitness Center reserves the right to reduce hours during breaks, final exams, between academic semesters, and during the summer. The Fitness Center and Recreation Space may temporarily close with or without notice, for maintenance purposes or for College-sponsored events. We reserve the right to close due to weather and on public and College holidays and will be held harmless should the facility be unavailable for use at these times or due to damage by fire, acts of God, catastrophe, accident, or other reasons beyond the control of St. Louis College of Pharmacy. Fitness Center staff, facility management and St. Louis College of Pharmacy staff have final authority on all activities in the St. Louis College of Pharmacy Fitness Center and Recreation Space. Procedures 1. Access to the Fitness Center is granted at the service desk by presenting a valid STLCOP ID or membership card. a. Fitness Center staff reserve the right to ask for additional identification at any time. b. Any ID of a suspicious nature or not belonging to the bearer, will be confiscated. c. Memberships are non-transferable and nonrefundable. d. Guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times and are not permitted on the track or in the Fitness Center. Underage guests may use the recreation gym and must still sign in with their host member, sign the Fitness Center Assumption of Risks Waiver, and pay a $5 day pass fee. e. Any member entering without their STLCOP ID with them, will be given one free pass (per semester). And the member must sign the No-ID log located at the service desk. 2. All personal belongings should be stored in a locker room locker. a. St. Louis College of Pharmacy is not responsible for lost or stolen items. b. Locks for lockers are available for checkout at the service desk for daily use rental upon request. Please ask service desk staff for information. c. Personal locks are prohibited. All locks are assigned by the College, any locks in the locker room not assigned by STLCOP will be removed and the locker contents will be placed in the Lost and Found at the end of the day. 3. Appropriate attire is required for the safety of users and to prevent disease transmission. a. Clean, closed-toes athletic shoes. NO boots, cleats, flip-flops, sandals. b. Shirts covering the entire stomach, chest, and back. 2

c. Sweat pants, shorts and fitness or workout attire. No jeans, cut-offs or belts. 4. All users are responsible for keeping the facility clean and safe. a. To protect the equipment and improve health conditions, all users are required to wipe down equipment after each use. Gym Wipes are provided. b. All wounds must be covered with a bandage. c. Please put equipment back into its appropriate storage space. d. Modifying equipment and use of broken equipment is dangerous and prohibited in the Fitness Center and recreation spaces. Please report malfunctioning or damaged equipment to the Fitness Center Staff immediately. e. Misuse of equipment may result in immediate expulsion from the facility. f. Incidents and injuries should be reported to the Fitness Center Staff immediately. 5. No food, chewing gum or drink (other than water) allowed in the Fitness Center. Please consume sports drinks or protein drinks outside of the fitness center. 6. Skateboards, roller-skates/blades, scooters, etc. are not permitted in any recreation space. 7. No animals (other than service animals) are permitted in recreation spaces. 8. Please be aware of your behavior and respect of other users and Fitness Center Staff in the facility. Use all equipment appropriately, machines, free weights and small equipment. NO profanity. Phones may ONLY be used for listening to music. Use of headphones/ear buds is required. Photographs are not permitted within any recreation space unless approved by the college. 9. Lost and Found items left unclaimed for more than 30 days will be discarded or donated to charity. Fitness Center is not responsible for lost or stolen articles. 10. Third-party personal training is NOT permitted in the Fitness Center, unless approved by the College. 11. Any form of harassment is prohibited and includes physical or verbal abuse, use of profanity or other abusive language, intimidation, staring at or following another person within the facility. 12. Free Weight specifics a. DO NOT drop weights or otherwise strike weights against each other or against other objects. b. Return all weights to their appropriate storage locations. c. Observe caution at all times. 3

d. Utilize a spotter and collars when using free weights. e. Lifting chalk and tape are not permitted in the Fitness Center. f. Olympic lifting is not permitted. g. No excessive loud noise of any kind. h. Please be courteous to others by limiting the length of your workout at a single station. Be respectful of other users in this space. i. Horseplay will not be tolerated. 13. Small equipment specifics a. Equipment is available for checkout with a STLCOP ID (weight belts, basketballs/volleyballs/soccer balls, etc.) at the service desk. b. Moving equipment from one location to another is prohibited. Please put all equipment back into its appropriate storage space. 14. Gymnasium specifics a. Any member entering without their STLCOP ID with them, will be given one free pass (per semester). And the member must sign the No-ID log located at the service desk. b. No black soled shoes that will leave marks on the gym floor. c. Spitting, abusive behavior or defacing the facility will not be tolerated. Damages will be the responsibility of the destructive user. d. Please put equipment back into its appropriate storage space. e. Throwing balls against the walls, bleachers and lights is not permitted. f. Sitting or standing on top of the closed bleachers is not permitted. g. Dunking, slapping the backboards, and hanging on the rim or nets is strictly prohibited due to the risk of injury and potential damage to the equipment. Violations will result in immediate ejection from the facility. h. Incidents and injuries should be reported to the Fitness Center Staff immediately. i. Check Gym schedule or call the fitness center for availability. 15. Users who fail to respect other people and/or the equipment will be asked to leave the premises.
