Government Notice No. 114 MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE, WATER AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT ANIMAL S AND PARASITES ACT: 1956 AMENDMENT OF THE ANIMAL S AND PARASITES STANDING REGULATIONS 1995 The Minister of Agriculture, Water and Rural Development has under section 27 of the Animal Diseases and Parasites Act, 1956 (Act 13 of 1956), made the regulations set out in the Schedule. 1\,j

In these regulations "the Regulations" means the Animal Diseases and Parasites Standing Regulations promulgated by Government Notice R.l531 of 4 October 1963, as amended by Government Notices R.428 of 26 March 1965, R.l688 of29 October 1965, R.957 of24june 1966, R.702 of26 Aprill968, R.ll16 of28 June 1968, R.55 of 17 January 1969, R.947 of 13 June 1969, R.l924 of 25 October 1974, R.l389 of 25 July 1975, R.2028 of 14 September 1979, R.l684 of 15 August 1980, AG.90 of 14 June 1982, AG.l79 of 15 December 1982, 1 February 1986 and 15 September 1987. 2. The Regulations is hereby amended by the addition to Part VI of the following regulations: "Permit Required to Vaccinate Birds 31. (1) Any person wishing to obtain any vaccine registered under the Fertilizers, Farm Feeds, Agricultural Remedies and Stock Remedies Act, 1947 (Act 36 of 1947) of Remedies and Stock Remedies Act, 1947 (Act 36 of 1947) or the Medicines and Related Substances Control Act, 1965 (Act 101 of 1965) for use against Newcastle disease and Avian Influenza shall apply in the form prescribed by Annexure J to the Director of Veterinary Services for a clearance permit to obtain therequired vaccines. (2) The Director of Veterinary Services may on an application made under subregulation ( 1) issue a clearance permit in which he or she approves such types of vaccines and number of doses of any such vaccine as he or she may determine. (3) No supplier of the vaccines referred to in subregulation ( 1) shall supply any such vaccine to any person unless such person produces to such supplier a clearance permit referred to in subregulation (2). ( 4) A supplier of the vaccines referred to in subregulation ( 1) shall, upon the supply of any such vaccine to another person, record the particulars set out in the clearance permit in question in a register to be kept by such supplier for such purpose. (5) A register referred to in subregulation (5) shall at all times lie open to inspection by a state veterinarian. Restriction on Moving Ostriches 32. No ostrich shall be moved from one farm or premises to another farm or premises unless a permit authorizing such movement has been issued by a state veterinarian. 3.
