MURPHY FAMILY FUNDRAISER We will be raising money for the Murphy Family because they lost their house due to a fire. All three Murphy kids went to Plainfield East (two graduated, one moved Junior year) and they are part of the East family. Every donation, small and big, will be helpful. They need groceries (gift cards from Trader Joes, WalMart, Target) and kitchen items!
CRAYOLA COLOR CYCLE Crayola is advocating for recycling in schools throughout North America. If teachers or students have unusable markers, instead of throwing them away recycle them through the Crayola Color Cycle. We will be needing shoe boxes for this.
FEED MY STARVING CHILDREN Hours done at FMSC will only be approved if the volunteer sheet from the organization is attached to the NHS individual hours sheet. Make sure you have the FMSC sheet!
READY SET RIDE Ready set ride is looking for volunteers. They ask for a 3-hour commitment once a week for two months. That gives 24 hours of service (all individual hours would be complete). They are there on Sundays 9 am to 3 pm and Monday Thursday 4 pm to 7 pm. Visit readysetride.org for further information or call to set up an appointment. 1-815-439-3659
STUDY HALL TUTORING AND TESTING CENTER Signing up for these sponsored hours during your study hall is a commitment for two weeks, which means participation in senior lunch for those two weeks is not allowed. If there are any complaints from the teacher or any cellphone usage, these sponsored hour privileges will be taken away. Testing center has begun. Mrs. Marcum will be creating the sign-ups for tutoring in the media center and hopes to begin next week. Watch remind for further information. NO CELL PHONES IN TEST CENTER. You will NOT be able to sign up again if caught with a cell phone out in the test center!
SUMMER HOURS Remember all hours done in the summer are due by September 4! If we receive them later you will be penalized 10% of the hours for each month they are late!

8TO18 All NHS members must register to confirm their membership. You may have done this if you are an athlete. Go to PEHS website, click on Athletics, click on Registration, click on Create an Account and follow the prompts. There is a section for parents that must be completed! If you have already registered, be sure to update your account with NHS.
T-SHIRTS You can still order T-Shirts ($10) at this meeting. This is the last call for T-Shirts! Please have money to Ms. Griffin by 8/31. She will place the order on 9/4!
