Time To Soar North Dallas Business Women (NDBW) Express Network Dallas, TX A League of the American Business Women s Association Welcome to our new member... 2 Q4 2016-2017 Partner/Sponsor program... 2 DACA... 3 Soar Board Opportunity... 3 Promotional Opportunity... 3 Give Get Grow Results... 4 Calander of Events... 5 Words from our League President Happy New Year! ABWA National recently released the theme for this year: Be Bold, Be Brave, Be YOU! What does this mean for you? How will you be bold and brave while being YOU? How can you incorporate this theme into your goals for 2018? There are so many benefits of being an ABWA member with opportunities & resources for us to live the mission to grow personally and professionally. GROWTH is a gradual development in maturity or process of growing. NDBW is still growing (only 4 years as a league) - so GROWTH is a focus for us this year. Growth in each individual, growth for the executive board, growth as a league. It starts at the individual person level. So, I am challenging each and every one of you how will you grow this year? What will you do differently this year to grow yourself? What level of engagement will you have in our league? BE BOLD how can you step up and get involved in our league? Serve on a committee, help with a monthly meeting registration, schedule a one-on-one call/meeting with another member you don t know, or make a call to a member to say hello and ask how you can help them! BE BRAVE what new skill do you want to learn this year? Ask any Board member to help you determine the best way for ABWA to provide this training. What actions/ activities scare you? ABWA is the best non-threatening avenue to test the waters while you learn. BE YOU always be your authentic self! Reach out to other members and share your experiences and skills. Everyone is a resource to each other. Let s celebrate our differences as well as what we have in common! For our league to grow, we must increase our membership. More members bring more experience and skills for a more robust pool of resources. Think about who you interact with each day as you go about your work and personal activities. Which women do you think would benefit from being a part of our league? Invite them to join you at our next monthly meeting! See you at the next monthly meeting! Karen Morriss NDBW President 2017-18
