P a g e 2 Rotary Club of Shreveport Scholarships About 35 years ago, our club begin awarding $350 scholarships to a students at our five Caddo Parish universities of higher learning. Over time the awards have increased to $2,000 to each student recipient. This year for the first time, we have ventured outside Caddo Parish and have included Bossier Parish Community College in our awards. Last Tuesday we presented the scholarship checks and heard from each recipient about their career goals. Rotarian Alan Prater has been chair of this committee for many years and because he has streamlined and organized the selection process so nicely, this is one of our club s largest and most popular committees. If you would like to be on the committee, let Alan know that you would like to serve next year.
