And last I need someone to step up to do the Secretary's job. Mary is too busy with her new job and has no time to do it.

Cact us Corvair Club Phoe n ix Ari zon a March 2 01 6 FANBELT FLYER Prez Sez By John Seaman We had a great meeting for February with a great turn out. Mary was sick so Miner had to fill in as secretary. We had a good showing of Corvairs at the Caliente Clowns Show in Florence AZ. Joe was the lucky winner of many prizes but gave them to other people...big hearted Joe. Upcoming events. I was contacted by General Motors IT Innovations Center in Chandler and they are having an ice cream social and asked if I would be able to get a group of Corvairs down there to show off at a small show. If you want to do this contact me and I will give you more info. I am looking for someone to drive my van or wagon there because Mary is just too busy with her new job and has been putting in a lot of hours. The show is this Thursday the 3rd of March.Check out the website for more info. Our annual spring cookout is set for April 2nd at Lost Dutchman State Park. Please bring a covered dish to share and come have some fun. We have the same pavilion we had last year and I believe it will be only $5.00 a car again. We have asked Desert Kustoms to join us so we will see if any of them attend. I will be getting in touch with the Tucson club to see if they are interested in joining us. We need to start thinking about what we want to do for a May activity. And last I need someone to step up to do the Secretary's job. Mary is too busy with her new job and has no time to do it. Our new T-shirts are in and look great although I haven't gotten mine as of today. Hopefully I will have it for the show at the GM Tech Center. Please come to the March meeting and show your support for the club and bring your ideas. Again, thank you for being a big part of the oldest active Corvair club in the U.S. Your Prez. John Seaman

Page 5 3 d Annual Caliente Clowns Car Show Feb. 20 th 2016 For the third year in a row, Cactus Corvair Club members attended the Caliente Clowns Car Show in force. While the number of Corvair vehicles shown was lower than last year the enthusiasm and support for a good cause was still top notch. Some members also attended to show support even though they were not able to bring their Vairs. This show benefits the foster children of Pinal County and entry fees were a requested donation of personal care items for the children. Club members Dale and Faye Sipple also belong to the Caliente Clowns group who organize and support the show along with the entire Caliente Casa De Sol RV Resort community. A caravan of Corvairs departed the Basha s meeting spot in Gold Canyon at 8 AM for the 25-minute drive to Florence. Joe and Larry were both driving in open convertibles and looked a bit chilly to me in the morning air. We arrived just in time as the parking places started filling up quickly after we found our spots together. All entrants were treated to coffee and donuts, way too many cookies plus a free lunch. There were probably 75-80 cars in total with a nice variety of makes and models on display. There was also a community garage sale taking place in the main building if you wanted to get out of the sun a little while. Attendees were Larry S., Joe L., Joe and Jonathan T., John and Mary S., Miner F., Jim J., Bob and Diane R., Dave and Cathy W. and new-comer Beth.
