Community News Wanted Community Speakers! Are you interested in heart health? Keen to help people in your community? Heart disease is the single biggest killer of Australians and yet many people know little about it. The Heart Foundation is looking for volunteers to present community talks on heart health in your region. No experience required just enthusiasm, a bit of time and willingness to speak in front of a group. Being a volunteer community speaker is a rewarding way to give back to your local community. Training workshops are being held in Brisbane at the Heart Foundation offices in Fortitude Valley on the following dates in 2016: Tuesday 9th February 2016 from 10.00am - 1.00pm Thursday 11th February 2016 from 5.30pm - 8.30pm We will provide you with training and a great package of resources to help you facilitate a community talk that will both inform and educate. The presentations topics available are: Eating for a healthy heart Active living for a healthy heart Warning signs of a heart attack Know your risk of heart disease Life after a heart attack If this sounds like you then please email Sue Hines at speakersqld@heartfoundation.org.au to find out more.
