Join us for our next GrowthLink meeting themed Mental Health Preventative Maintenance to build your resilience. Fill your mental tool bag with skills to identify, heal and maintain for a healthy mind. The Rosslyn Bay Resort and Wellness Spa is the centre of our activities. At the Resort, Carla Pearse delivers a workshop focusing on how the mind works and provides some tools to apply to daily life. Stacey Curcio adds some mental health tools from a nutritional perspective. Ross O Reilly explains the seven basic human needs that when fulfilled, act as antidepressants to feel better about yourself. We visit Ross O Reilly s High Valley Dawn farm, a 140 acre organic permaculture and educational centre. Here we see first-hand how Ross and his team use Mother Nature to benefit mental health. Enhance your mental health throughout the program with yoga, a silent nature walk and meditation, and watch the sun set across High Valley Dawn. We acknowledge the Darumbal Aboriginal people as the traditional custodians of the area and recognise their continuing connection to land, water and community. After conducting a needs analysis of those who have attempted suicide and their family members, Carla developed a model of service to engage at-risk people in a contact process to improve their mental wellbeing. Carla has experienced a 100% success rate with her program which is used by the not-for-profit organisation called CAPS (Community Action for the Prevention of Suicide). More recently, Carla has spent the past four years in India and Tibet immersed in Buddhism. Carla takes us on a mindfulness journey, engaging with negative narratives, suffering and our mind s busyness, and facilitating exercises in letting go, enhancing positivity and highlighting you are what you think. This four-hour workshop is open to the public and proceeds from the public ticket sales will be donated to CAPS.

Stacey is motivated by her bigger picture to make a meaningful contribution to other people s lives. My health philosophy merges modern science with traditional wisdom. Stacey is in awe of the human body, our capacity to heal, grow and respond to our environment, the food we eat and the emotions we experience. Stacey provides us with an hour of powerful nutritional tools to maintaining a healthy mental state.

Through his own life experiences and travels to many parts of the world over the last 30 years, studying under some of the best masters on the planet, Ross has gained a wealth of knowledge. His mission is to share his learnings with as many people, leaders and teams as possible. On day two, Ross and his Farm Manager Sean show us around the permaculture farm and explain this special destination which helps people with their health and wellbeing. On day three, Ross explains ways to build our relationships and feel better about ourselves, derived from the basic human needs of certainty, uncertainty, significance, love and connection, growth, contribution, fun and variety.
