Greetings, Jim here; February was a big month for the ministry; we celebrated 8 years of bringing healing to the hurting in Sheboygan County in the name of Jesus, we had another very successful Agape Gala and we were nominated as non profit of the year by the Sheboygan County Chamber of Commerce. Oh yeah, we received recognition and congratulations of a US Congressman as well. Agape Gala Our 8 th annual Agape Gala took place on February 14 th at Pine Hills. The evening was both fun and touching. Two clients from the Sober House gave their testimonies, and new this year, we had the testimony from the parents of one of the clients. Addiction doesn t just affect the addict, there is usually a generation in front of and coming behind that addict that will pay the price. We are here to break that cycle
Sheboygan County Chamber Champions For the first time Samaritans Hand was nominated as the Nonprofit of the Year by the Sheboygan County Chamber of Commerce. It was a huge honor just to be nominated and reflects that the impact we are having on our community is being recognized. When I looked at the other nominees it struck me that we are all doing our best to make a positive impact on our community, so it felt weird to compete with them for an award. It is a good to know that we are all rowing in the same direction. When you try to land a plane on an aircraft carrier there are a set of three cables that you need to catch with your tail hook. If you don t catch that third cable and don t have enough air speed to take off again, you are going over the side. A lot of the other organizations that were nominated for the award are first and second cable organizations. We were one of the few that was a 3 rd cable organization. For a lot of our clients we are the last chance. We are honored and humbled to be in that position.
Thank you to our 2019 Gala Sponsors Congressional Recognition Recently we received a letter from US Representative Glen Grothman congratulating the ministry on the opening of the Sober House. Congratulations to Kully and the staff at the Sober House.
