WELCOME MESSAGE Dear Friends 'Heart Failure' is the new epidemic, with an estimated prevalence of 2% of the population in the western world! The mean age of the Indian patient with heart failure is almost two decades younger and the annual mortality is staggering 20-30%! Importantly, only about 30-40% patients receive guideline directed treatment. It is about time, all of us involved in health-care take cognizance of these facts and implement appropriate measures. In this regard, we are organizing a two-day scientific meet in Mumbai in the last quarter of 2019. The primary objective of the conference would be to update on contemporary, evidence-based heart failure management strategies. The scientific program would be curated in a manner that would cater to post-graduates in medicine and cardiology; practicing MD physicians and cardiologists; interventional cardiologists; cardiac surgeons; heart failure specialists (including intensivists, cardiac anesthetists & pathologists). We will reach-out and involve delegates and faculty from all over India in this scientific endeavor. All aspects of Heart Failure management will be deliberated upon, right from guideline directed medical therapy, newer diagnostic modalities, end-stage heart failure management including devices and heart transplant. Heart transplant program is now well established in India and the nitty-gritty in terms of indications and post-transplant management will be discussed threadbare. Special emphasis would be given to preventive and rehabilitative strategies to improve outcomes of the Indian heart failure patient. Industry is true knowledge partner and together we can achieve the goal of learning, sharing and caring for this ever growing and dreadful disease. I request you to give your valuable inputs about this academic activity and seek your guidance and support to make this a successful event. Best Regards Dr. Amit Vora Prof. Prafulla Kerkar
