Linden Garden Club of Pinewild LINDEN GARDEN CLUB OF PINEWILD NOVEMBER 2017 NEWSLETTER MEETING NOVEMBER 16TH 2017 PINEWILD COUNTRY CLUB 10:00 AM MEMBERS' AUTUMN WORKSHOP CREATE A CORNUCOPIA COST: $15.00 PAYABLE AT THE MEETING WHAT TO BRING: GLOVES, CUTTING TOOL AND APRON ALL THE FLOWERS AND MATERIALS WILL BE SUPPLIED (THIS INCLUDES THE CORNUCOPIA AND OASIS) Please Note: If you have signed up for the workshop, you still need to notify Diane Anello you are attending and if you will be staying for lunch. Instructions are printed below. Thank you.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR SIGNING UP FOR THE MEETING/LUNCHEON: Lunch will follow our program and business meeting. Please contact Diane Anello at the following email address: reservations@lindengardenclub.com or 420-2032 by Monday, November 13th to make your luncheon reservation. This date enables Diane to get an accurate count for the Chef. Please note that you must notify Diane if you will attend the meeting, but are not staying for lunch. ALSO, please note that you should receive an email or phone call confirming that we received your RSVP within a few days of your email. If you do not receive a confirmation, please get in touch with Diane promptly! In the event that you make a luncheon reservation and find that you are unable to attend, you must cancel 48 hours in advance to avoid being charged for the lunch. Husbands and guests are always welcome to attend the meetings. If you are bringing a guest, please tell Diane when making your reservations. This month s luncheon will be a buffet and has been selected by Chef Todd and Cathy Broutsas. If you have food allergies or special diets, please mention that to Diane when you call and Chef Todd will make accommodations for you. Our team has provided 25 volunteers! You will receive confirmation of your time slot and room shortly. You can still sign up by contacting Janet Farrell at Janet.farrell7@gmail.com, 251-8028. The tour dates for Christmas House are December 7 th December 10 th, Thursday through Sunday. ATTENTION GARDEN CLUB MEMBERS: If you are planning to create centerpieces for the Holly Ball,me et at the FairBarn Saturday, December 9th at 9:00. Bring Garden Greens, Gloves and Clippers. Extra greens will be available as well as ribbons and oasis. This is a fun event and you may take your creation home after the Ball!

This year the wreaths go up on November 21 st at 9:30 a.m. Tradition has us heading to Lady Bedford s for a hot cup of tea and a bite to eat. Barb Rueb, our sunshine chairperson, would like to remind the membership to let her know if a member is hospitalized, ill or has had a death in the family. Barb will send a card to let them know we are thinking of them. Contact Barb at 295-4908 or rueb@nc.rr.com. Our garden club has a web-site that we encourage you to use. Each page opens to soothing & happy music classics. The site provides access to our history (we started in the 1993-94 season), our calendar, newsletter, master gardener tips, scholarships, photos, and a Members Only tab that is password protected. Simply type lindengardenclub.com in your preferred search engine (Google, Bing, etc). You will have immediate access to everything except the Members Only tab. To access the Members Only tab just type the following: User Name: lindengardenclub all lower case Password: pinewild2013 - all lower case If you click on the box remember my credentials you will have access to the Members Only tab the next time you visit -- without entering a password! The Members Only tab provides access to the membership directory, minutes, officers, and our Committee Chairs & Committee Members who make everything possible. We encourage you to visit us it s easy and you will have everything about the club at your finger tips. Sandhills Horticultural Society To register for workshops & classes - Payment due at registration. 910-695-3882 to reserve a space. This is one of our most popular workshops, so sign up early. Space is limited to 24, please sign up by Dec. 1st so Maggie knows how much greenery to bring. You'll go home with a gorgeous holiday arrangement and have lots of Xmas cheer while learning how to put it together! Seating is limited, so register early to assure your space. 2018 Workshops/Events January 20th (Saturday) 10AM - Noon Pruning Workshop conducted by Moore County Extension agent Taylor Williams. Sandhills Horticultural Gardens-Ball Visitors Center. Learn pruning basics then an outside demonstration of how it is done. FREE but reservations necessary. March 16 (Friday) Hummingbirds & Plants that Nourish Them - Susan Campbell 1 PM - 2 PM, Ball Visitors Center, Sandhills Horticulture Gardens.
