Did you know We are blessed to have two student teachers in our school this year as they build their knowledge and experience towards the most rewarding profession.teaching! Kennedie Wolosyn and Melissa Kueber are both second year students attending the University of Alberta. Melissa is completing her practicum alongside our Sports Academy team, on the ice with our hockey students, in addition to working with Ms. Leis in Grade 6. Kennedie is teaching our Grade 1 students with Mrs. Pratt and our Grade one team. Both of our student teachers also organized our bake sale for the We Day students this past week, which raised $260! We will be re-visiting our BEAR program during our student assembly on Monday, November 14th. We will be focusing on the theme of RESPECT for Self and Others during November and December. We show respect by speaking and acting with courtesy. We treat each other with dignity and honour the rules of our family, school and follow Jesus as our greatest teacher to do unto others, as we would have them do unto you. Thank you to all the families that participated in our Christmas Art Card and Fundscrip Gift Card Fundraisers! Distribution date is Monday, November 21 Stay tuned next week to find out which class raised the most money for the Fundscrip fundraiser and wins the pizza party from Nitza's pizza! 2

Did you miss the deadline to order gift cards for the holiday season? Do you wish to purchase gift cards for special occasions throughout the year? Do you want to help support Albert Lacombe School year round? YEAR ROUND ONLINE GIFT CARD ORDERING IS NOW AVAILABLE! See attachment for Online Ordering Instructions Thank you for supporting our School! Questions? Contact Winnie at SEEALSORDER@GMAIL.COM Fall Staff Supper for Parent Teacher Interview night Monday, November 21 On Parent Teacher interview days, most teachers and staff do not have time to go home for a hot meal so parent volunteers coordinate a meal for them. It s a way for parents to show their appreciation to teachers and staff at Albert Lacombe School. We have a fun and diverse theme planned this year! Please email Heather at dhaight0921@shaw.ca by Tuesday, November 15 to find out more and about how to contribute a food item. 3

Help us raise money and join our gift card fundraiser! What is the FundScrip fundraising program? Fundscrip is an innovative program that lets you earn cash rebates for our group based on things you buy everyday like groceries, gas and other household items. Every month you spend hundreds of dollars for things like food, gas, clothing, pharmacy, restaurants, electronics, home renovations, department stores, and so on. All you have to do is pay for some or all of your purchases using GIFT CARDS bought at face value from FundScrip participating retailers and a percentage of every gift card purchased is contributed to our group s fundraising efforts. So instead of paying with cash or a debit card, you use a gift card that you purchased through our group. It costs you nothing extra but you just earned money for our organization. How to Order Your Gift Card & Support our Group Visit the FundScrip website at www.fundscrip.com and click on the Support Your Group button located on the top right Here s our group s Invitation Code XF9H22 Once you have completed the sign up process, you will be email to complete your registration. Now you are ready to login, place orders and start supporting our group! Have your gift card order mailed to you directly! You can order your gift cards online any time and have them shipped to your home address for $0.85 (plus taxes). You pay this $0.85 (plus taxes) when you checkout your order. There is a four (4) gift card limit in each order and a $500 maximum value of the cards. Orders are processed four (4) days a week (Monday through Thursday) at 9:15 am ET once payment has Payment methods available to you Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) - FREE sent to FundScrip to be activated. Credit Card (earnings are reduced by 1.99%) Online Banking Bill Payment - FREE Pay for your orders as you would pay any other bill. There are no fees or deductions to earnings for using this payment. Please note that it can take at least three (3) business days for FundScrip to receive payment Ask family & friends to support our group too! We encourage everyone to invite their family members, friends, co-workers and neighbors to participate in our FundScrip gift card fundraiser as well. Thank you for supporting Albert Lacombe School year round! Do you have any questions? Please contact: Winnie at SEEALSORDER@GMAIL.COM Learn more at www.fundscrip.com 4
