This year at awards night we are starting our 2018 sign up, if you are already excited for next year, here is your chance to beat the crowds. If you re ready for 2018 please be ready to sign up with all your information and $100 for the first member in your family, and $85 for each additional member. If you have a chance, head over to the 4-H Ontario web page, print and fill out a copy of the member participation agreement form. This will help save on time. We are excited to get a head start on things, and are hoping you are too. We have an exciting lineup of clubs for the coming year. ************************************************** 4-H Club to Club Provincial Exchange Lennox & Addington 4-H is hoping to participate in a Club to Club exchange with another 4-H Association in a different province in 2018. Participants must be between the ages of 12 and 17 as of July 2018 to participate, be willing to host a family, complete police checks, and help with fundraising. It is a long process so if you are interested please contact Bridget Poole as soon as possible at chrisandbridget@xplornet.ca Club News The is now underway. Leaders Sarah Schembri and Jane Davis will contact members with dates, times and location. will be starting this month with meetings at the Napanee. Members will be notified of meeting times and dates. ******************************************************************** REGION 3 JUDGE-IT DAY CLOVERBUD CORNER At our last meeting, we were invited to one of our member s farms to learn about goats. Thanks so much to the Gyde Family for hosting this meeting. We learned about different breeds of goats, what goats are used for (milk, meat and wool), we played a goat trivia game and did a judging exercise with different kinds of cheese. Our next meeting is Saturday October 28th at McNichols.

SCARECROW FESTIVAL Thanks so much to all those who came out to help work at the BBQ, bake sale andlivestock show and to those who donated baking. It was a beautiful day and we did quite well with fundraising. 4-H In The Community We were at the Bath Sunday Market on September 10 th, the Township of Stone Mills 150 th Canada Celebration on September 16 th, the Napanee Scarecrow Festival on September 30 th at Market Square with a bbq, bake sale and petting zoo and Jersey Walk. The faces of 4-H are getting to be well known in our communities. In October we will be participating in the Family Hallowe en Day at Odessa on October 29 th. Bring the family and have a lot of fun! Upcoming Opportunities from 4-H Ontario: Check out opportunities on the 4-H website or in the Resource Book Note that our Association will reimburse ½ the registration cost of attending a 4-H Opportunity once the member has attended and comes to an Association meeting to relate their experience to us.
