Every minute, someone a family member, a friend, a colleague is diagnosed with cancer regardless of their state of mind, the state of the economy, or the state of the world. Hope in Motion is important not only to raise money for vital programs at the cancer center, but also to show cancer patients that the community really cares. About Hope in Motion & The Bennett Cancer Center Stamford Hospital s Signature Community Event With over 4,000 participants, Hope in Motion is the largest charity event in Fairfield County. All funds raised through Hope in Motion go directly to the Bennett Cancer Center to provide thousands of patients and their family members with a variety of programs including: Clinical trials & cancer research Exercise and nutrition program Support services Transportation Integrative medicine Genetic counseling Lung cancer program NEW Survivorship program: Transitions: Choices in Recovery

About the Event Walk Run Ride (50 mile) Family Fun Ride 5K walk through scenic Stamford We offer a 5K timed run through downtown Stamford for runners as well as those just getting ready for summer events. June 7, 2009 We offer a 50 mile ride that passes through Stamford and New York. For those who can t complete a full 50 miles, we have an opt out shorter cut-off that brings you to the same finish line with less total mileage. The Ride will leave from and return to our new home this year at Columbus Park in downtown Stamford. In addition, we offer a Ride Readiness program for novice and elite riders to help train you for this challenge. The whole family can participate in a short ride on wheels of their choice: tricycles, Big Wheels, wheelchairs, roller-blades, bicycles with training wheels, all the way up to racing bikes.
