Mobley 3 RESEARCH EXPERIENCE Hospitals and Clinics Adolescent and Young Adult Cancer Program Graduate Research Assistant November 2016 Present Oversaw and facilitated a three-pronged approach to evaluate fertility preservation outcomes for adolescents and young adults with cancer using quantitative, mixed methods, and qualitative methodological approaches for distinct components of the project. Led and coordinated fertility preservation policy and advocacy efforts in Iowa with stakeholders from across the state and nationally. Cleaned and analyzed data collected from Epic to determine the effect of Palliative Care practice involvement on location of death on pediatric patients from 2012-2016. Led implementation of the clinical trial component of Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) program, including creation of an education document and evaluation of enrollment in clinical trials, in partnership with physician leadership. Used a mixed-methods approach to understand patient-identified gaps, which were addressed in the development of the adolescent and young adult cancer program. Served on the adolescent and young adult cancer program committee which planned and implemented focus groups for adolescents and young adults regarding their care experience. Princple investigator on work funded through the Iowa Cancer Consortium Concept and Implementation grants. Rural Policy Research Institute (RUPRI) Graduate Research Assistant August 2015 Present Current projects underway: unintended consequences of health policy on rural health; the effect of hospital closure on rural communities. Led initial brainstorming session through to project completion for Rural Long Term Services and Supports: A Primer with RUPRI Panel members. Worked with RUPRI Panel members and staff to implement creative and innovative dissemination strategies, and wrote initial drafts of three chapters for Taking Stock: Policy Opportunities for Advancing Rural Health paper. Project lead on RUPRI Center Policy Brief: Distribution of Disproportionate Share Hospital Payments to Rural and Critical Access Hospitals. Quality experience: o Helped facilitate accreditation and regulatory readiness for the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy. o Prepared and presented quality management reports and audits. o Created and maintained reports for reporting to registries, completing insurance contract requests for information, and supplying data and project management guidance. o Assisted with BMT data management by reporting information in a timely manner to all necessary organizations, in accordance with federal regulation. Participated in many projects, including: o LEAN project to analyze commercial denial of chemotherapy payment. o Developed a business plan to explain why Holter scanning analyses should be done by Mayo Clinic Florida and the potential positive impact on revenue gained. o Compared physician-templated patient care time, charge data, and scheduled visit types; determined template changes were necessary to meet the new patient consultation goal. o Worked with a Human Resources Service Partner to develop a policy for use during the peerreview appeal processes for corrective action or termination. o Developed a new appointment type lists and disease resource lists to improve patient access.
