Next Step What is your plan to deal (account) for the sin in your life when you stand before God? Since the Bible says that we all sin and that the outcome of sin is separation from God, unless we make proper preparations on this side of eternity, we are in big trouble. (Romans 3:23; 6:23; and 10:9-10) In Hebrews 10:5-9, Jesus offered Himself to God; He said, "here I am." What would it look like for you to say, "here I am"? Jesus said that He came to do God's will not His own. In what areas would you say that you are doing your own thing/will and not God's? Why is that the case? What would it take for you to choose to do God's will instead of your own? In Hebrews 10:8b, Jesus set some new priorities. What priorities would God say need to be rearranged in your life? What needs to happen for that to take place? One of the best ways for God to work in your life from the inside out is to begin consistently reading the Bible. This gives God an opportunity to speak clearly into your life. We are reading through the New Testament beginning this week and this is a terrific opportunity for you to put yourself in a growth environment. If you have not signed up for the reading plan, it's not too late. Please call the office at 484.5033 or go on-line to newcovchurch.org to get information and to sign up. 2

Step Out And Serve Now that all of the lights are down off your home and the ornaments are put away, the joy of serving through Incarnational Christmas might seem a distant memory. I assure you, however, that those we served have NOT forgotten. In fact, the Step Out and Serve team continues to receive feedback from our six agencies, letting us know that God s love was indeed shared this holiday through our congregation s efforts. This Spring, and for the remainder of the year, we want to continue to be responsive to the needs of our agencies. They have come to trust us and know that we care about them, and we have encouraged them to come to us with their needs. So we need your help. If you have not already done so, please indicate to the SOS team which of the six agencies you would be interested in supporting with your time. Child Advocacy Center: The Child Advocacy Center (CAC) provides help for children who are victims of serious physical and sexual abuse. Working with law enforcement and other agencies, the CAC offers a safe, child-friendly environment for forensic interviews and medical evaluations of the child victim, as well as on-going support for the child and non-offending family. Tabitha: Tabitha provides compassionate older adult care through rehabilitation, home care, hospice, Meals On Wheels, adult day services and elder living options. Friendship Home: Friendship Home exists to support, shelter and advocate for women and children who are victims of domestic violence. Lincoln Crisis Pregnancy Center: Lincoln Crisis Pregnancy Center provides a friendly, compassionate atmosphere where trained peer counselors provide help and hope for women facing an unplanned pregnancy. Fresh Start Home: Fresh Start is a transitional home in Lincoln for women who are moving out of homelessness. Fresh Start serves as a home for 24 women who are working diligently to improve their lives. Good Neighbor Community Center: Started in 1973, Good Neighbor Community Center has been helping the Lincoln Community with Food, Clothing, Personal Care Kits, ESL classes, and lower rate bus passes. In collaboration with churches and other agencies they are helping people help themselves. As a member of the team supporting each agency, you will receive e-mail alerts or phone calls when your agency has a need. You will then have the opportunity to respond to that need. Certainly we understand that each of you might not be able to help each time, but our prayer is that we will always have someone or some group that can step up and say, Yes! Please indicate on the tear off below which agency you prefer to support or e-mail your preference to sos@newcovchurch.org....
