I hope everybody has had a good summer. It sure has been a pleasant one as far as summers go. There will be postcards telling about the fall conference being sent out in the next few days. You will need to download a copy of the registration form and send it in for the conference. The fall conference will be October 18,19, and 20, 2013 at the Inn of Grand Glaize. Again there is a great lineup of speakers. As always there will be six hours of ethics offered. This fall is again time for elections of the new board members. The nomination forms will come out in the mail in mid-september and must be mailed in no later than October 21, 2013. The nominations will no longer be accepted at the conference but must be mailed in to the office. The next board meeting will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday October 18, 2013. Go Dutch and eat with the board and learn about MACA business. I look forward to seeing old friends and new friends at the Fall conference. Page 2 From the MACA Office By Ronnie Beaver, MACA Executive Secretary It s getting to be time for the Fall Conference. There are a few changes on notification and registration. First, I will be sending out postcards instead of the usual flyers. They will have information on conference dates, registration and sponsorship, with web address where you can download the schedule, registration and sponsorship forms. Second, you will need to download the forms you need, and send the completed forms and payment to the MACA office. If you have any problems downloading the forms, you can call the office at 816-232-3411 for assistance. You will be able to find the conference forms on our web site by the 7 th of August. The elections for MACA Board will be this fall. I will be sending nomination forms to MACA members in mid-september. They must be mailed to the MACA office no later than October 21st. As soon as the nominations are received, I will be sending ballot forms to all members by the 1 st of November. The timeline for returning the ballots will be outlined in the election forms. We hope to have a good solid return from the membership of nominations and ballots. Please be sure the person you nominate is a MACA member, and have them send a brief bio to the office. Board members have a vital role in MACA and the direction it takes. I m sad to say that Tommy Hallam lost his battle with cancer in June. He has been a wonderful friend and MACA member for so many years. I will miss him so much. At our last Board meeting it was decided to offer Matthew Silva the Eastern Region position, and I am pleased to say he accepted the position. Matthew will be a great addition to the MACA Board. At this time the MSAPCB Board position is vacant due to Scott Breedlove accepting a new position with the State. There were over 80 applications sent in for that position, and the new MSAPCB Director should be announced soon. We are still promoting membership with a $100.00 gift card from Wal-Mart to be awarded to the member who recruits the most new members during the 6 month time frame between conferences. Also, Agency members receive a free vendor booth at each of MACA s conferences. I hope to see you at our Fall 2013 conference. It will be October 18-20 at the Inn at Grand Glaze, Lake Ozark, Mo.
