So, what is it exactly that you want as an active member of NWMO MGMA? Most members say they like the education, the programs and especially the networking, etc. But experts say that s not what people really want! It s not education that members want... Or networking, Or a listserv. Or a zippy new website. Members want OUTCOME of those things. You really want professional advancement. You want to look smart in front of other people. You want to have opportunities to make more money. You want less stress in our lives. And so forth. The world today is so noisy that the only thing that will get noticed is something that achieves a noticeable outcome. This isn t something that most members are even going to be able to tell you in surveys or focus groups, unless you ask the right questions. Here is your copy of The Member Engagement Scoresheet! https://smpl.ro/d/pesu9zwcuctv1o4mmgbt63vd/c/1543730/0 How to Fill Out Your Scoresheet: It is easiest to complete the Scoresheet if you PRINT it. It s only one page. Then simply answer the questions in each box, giving your organization a numerical score for each box. Don t overthink your response. It s simply 2 points for YES, 1 point for SOMETIMES, and 0 points for No. Each column can be totaled at the bottom. A high score (out of 10 possible points) in a column means that you have an area of strength. Lower scores mean there s room for improvement. Send your results to info@nwmomgma.com to be compiled for board use. Keep a copy for yourself. - Adapted from Joy Duling, Membership Strategist/Expert Facilitator Here are some questions to ponder as we move into 2019: What would you like to be different this time next year? What feels really hard for you right now? What problems are you Googling to find answers for? The answers to these questions will reveal deeper desires. Then, once you understand these desires, you sprinkle responsiveness to these desires throughout all stages of the member experience. See left scoresheet. Send results to info@nwmomgma.com December 2018 Issue 5

Northwest Missouri 816-806-1838 info@nwmomgma.com https://nwmomgma. wildapricot.org Tyler is a UMKC senior majoring in Chemistry, Biology and Healthcare Science. As a gift to start this project off, Tyler created a word cloud for us, a THANK YOU to us for allowing him to help US! On the website is an intro video he just completed. Tyler chose NWMO to intern with us but was suggested to focus on his major. So Tyler offered to do this as a gift to us -- on his own initiative during Christmas break, noting he simply wanted to help our association in this way. His efforts will be a great start to a better social media presence for us. He is quite an amazing young man. Thanks, Tyler!!! December 2018 Issue 7
