Jeri Lynn Wood, 55, of Port Neches, passed away Friday, December 8, 2017, from complications of non-alcoholic Cirrhosis of the Liver. She was born on September 12, 1962, in Port Arthur. Survivors include her father, Billy Joe Waller of Nederland; daughters, Jessica Wood of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Ann Marie Wood of Port Neches; step-daughter, Sarah Janisch of Killeen; fur baby girl, Bella Wood; brother, Kevin Waller and his wife, Lisa, of Houston; sister, Cindy Miller and her husband, Sean, of Glendale, Arizona; and numerous other extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Judith Ann Waller. 3
Growing up in Southeast Texas, Jeri was raised a Nederland Bulldog. When her children Jessica and Ann-Marie were young, she moved to Port Neches and quickly converted to a PNG Indian. She was active in the PNG High School activities as both the girls completed high school there. As a young woman, Jeri loved journalism and wrote a column in the local Port Arthur newspaper. Soon after high school, she was hired by Sam s Club where she became a key associate for more than 22 years. After her years of service to Sam s Club, she was hired by NES Equipment Rentals where she worked until her passing. Jeri was blessed to have two beautiful daughters, Jessica and Ann-Marie and devoted her time and energy to them along with enjoying a close relationship with her step-daughter, Sarah Ella. She especially enjoyed pampering her fur-baby, Bella. Jeri loved traveling with her children and family, particularly the fun trips with her entire family to Walt Disney World and Hawaii. Jeri was blessed with a creative flare; she would spend countless hours (and probably too much money) doing what she loved. Her sister Cindy and Aunt Janet shared in the passion for scrapbooking and crafting. Jeri also loved getting together with her family and sharing family recipes. Her brother, Kevin, was the biggest fan of her Christmas sugar cookies and her famous cornbread dressing. She was always happiest in the company of her girls and family. Jeri s passion for her family was evident in her selfless devotion to them; her generous nature brought comfort to those she loved the most. Jeri was always the sweetest person in the room or wherever she went, constantly thinking of others and putting everyone else ahead of herself. She enriched all our lives with her great sense of humor and loved to make others laugh and feel important. We have lost an amazing daughter, mother, sister, niece, aunt and friend. Anyone that knew Jeri and shared in her life was tremendously blessed. 4
