Empathy Map

Positive pressure Do things on a regularly scheduled basis No time Practice together Have a friend with SAY me I didn t want Start with minimum my parents to Schedule Social to avoid getting worry about me recognitio conflicts burned out n

Eats out Uses fitbit Salad for lunch Makes list Uses apple watch DO Uses social media to announce goals Uses fitness apps to count calories burned Eats healthy food

Scheduling is important Support groups are crucial No genuine connections on current social media Think Self-improvement is important Behavior sequence prompting is essential Health issues are urgent

More accountability when with others Pride and accomplishment after reaching goals Social Feel Unsatisfied Excited to show people their goals Confused

Quote Insight "when a couple can think alike, it helps a lot. and we both really have similar backgrounds"--f rank having someone with a similar mindset or background is helpful for working towards a goal Need a way to connect with like-minded people

Quote Insight because of the time crunch and other priorities, we haven t been cooking at home as much as we would like -Thameenah Time/scheduling is a key pain point in achieving goals Need A better way to manage time/scheduling with specific goals in mind

Quote nobody knows if i am exercising or not, so i just sat on the couch and watched tv -Ruo Insight People are more motivated to work towards goals when they re being held accountable by others Need A way to maintain motivation and accountability when working towards a goal

Quote "I felt confused. It has been a goal for a long time. I thought if I am fluent in 3 languages, life is good; But life didn t change. life is the same; so what do I do now? --Erem Insight goals achieved alone sometimes don't feel satisfying Need A way to magnify the rewarding feeling after you achieve a goal--group projects that are designed for people to achieve goals together

Tensions & Contradictions No genuine social connections on many social media platforms Diet and fitness is not only for Appearances, but more for Health concerns Meditation and mindfulness is important, but couldn t help in some situations; needed external support Outwardly perceived as happy but internally struggling/feeling alone Internally social but can appear as antisocial because of profession/environment

Surprises Even the people that are really good at scheduling/planning, have time constraints that keep them from achieving goals While some felt happy once achieving a goal, others felt confused Importance of a set routine in achieving goals Sometimes just talking to a nice person is better than speaking with an expert Find more comfort from support and not solutions Don t want to share personal struggles with the people closest to him (such as parents) because felt they would worry about him

Insights: People are more motivated to work towards goal when feel they re being held accountable by other people and not just themselves Time/scheduling is a key pain point in achieving goals People feel supported when connecting with like-minded people Breaking down behaviors can help with achieving goals Support can be better than solutions Fitness and diet is a common theme people associate with goals Achieving goals as a group project enhances the rewarding feeling

Summarized Needs: A personalized way to achieve a goal The opportunity to connect with like-minded people A way to better manage time/schedules with a specific goal in mind A way to maintain motivation and accountability when working towards a goal

Thank You! Any Questions?
