INCLUSIVE PLAY PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE LAST WEEK S MEETING PP Michael provided the Club with a synopsis from the last meeting of the Board of Trustees (BoT) held May 13th. He informed that the Members from Barbados South are Katrina Sam, Sonya Alleyne and Brian Robinson. The focus of that meeting was to ensure construction can start by the first quarter of Rotary year 2017-2018. The services of Rtn Gregory Hazard has been sought to provide details as it relates to the civil and engineering works. PP Michael informed that after these drawings are received, the cosmetic costings would be contracted out. The land, leased from Government, should be released in two to three (2-3) months. The legal team are looking into the mechanics as it relates to the vesting in the name of the Trust. Details of their suggestions will be shared when provided. The project will require members to serve within the areas of Construction, Trust, Legal, Finance, Marketing and Project Handover. Interested person should contact the BoT indicating which project stream they are interested in providing assistance. The Council of the Disable are to be re-engaged to ascertain their interest and provisions of funding and the running of this Inclusive Play Centre. The next meeting will be June 28 th. PDG Milton will ensure all correspondence from the BoT meetings and as it relates to the project is shared with the Club. The consensus of the Club was the details of the Project need to be presented at a forum specifically to discuss the details of the Project prior to its start as PP Mike and the other Trustees present, were not able to address all of the questions asked as many of the issues are a work in progress. THE NATIONAL ANTHEM OF BARBADOS In plenty and in time of need When this fair land was young Our brave forefathers sowed the seed From which our pride is sprung. A pride that makes no wanton boast Of what it has withstood. That binds our hearts from coast to coast The pride of nationhood. We loyal sons and daughters all Do hereby make it known These fields and hills beyond recall Are now our very own. We write our names on history s page With expectations great. Strict guardians of our heritage Firm craftsmen of our fate. ROTARY GRACE O Lord and giver of all things good, We thank thee for our daily food. May Rotary friends and Rotary ways, Help us to serve thee all our days.
