2 Train as a professional reflexologist! What is Reflexology? Reflexology is a non-invasive and relaxing complementary therapy that aims to optimise both physical and emotional health. It works by massaging and stimulating specific points (usually on the feet but sometimes on the hands, face and ears) called reflex points. These points correspond to different parts of the body. Reflexologists work holistically to treat the whole person not just the symptoms and I will therefore be able to provide general lifestyle advice and support to you. Benefits of Reflexology Receiving Reflexology can offer many benefits to help optimize health as well as promoting relaxation and de-stressing. Having a Reflexology treatment also allows you to have time out from your busy life, it is a time where you can focus purely on yourself. This should not be underestimated, it is so important that you make time to be able to clear your mind and totally relax. Foot map of the body The principle of Reflexology is that the feet (or hands) as a whole, represent a map of the entire body incorporating each body system and every gland and organ. The Reflexology syllabus includes: Study of common complaints as well as specific conditions and how reflexology can help Hand reflexology Integral biology (or how we are affected by home/work/stress - life!) Consultation process and introduction to counselling skills Client care. Adapting your treatments for individuals: e.g. young, elderly, those in palliative care, pregnancy Contra-indications and reactions to treatment The holistic approach to health and treatment Referral procedures Introduction to other therapies Professional presentation Business & Health and Safety Code of Ethics and Practice History, theory and philosophy of reflexology Anatomy & Physiology - PLUS

3 Plus: Basic Diet and Nutrition How to Market, Advertise to promote your practice And we will also we will be teaching you things normally learned after graduation in workshops! Advanced reflexology techniques Hand Reflexology - usually schools only teach the theory - we have always taught the practical too Introduction to Maternity Reflexology Lymphatic Drainage How reflexology can be used in Palliative care Foot Reading introduction What is involved in the course? Practical Assessments : Anatomy and Physiology coursework. Case Studies: 40 treatments (6 people 6 times with 4 extra treatments). 60 additional treatments. Projects for Business and Principles & Practice theory sent in advance of the course so there is less coursework for you while you are doing your case studies Reflexology Homework No reflexology theory exam although we have our own end of course test to ensure you leave us as confident and competent therapists. Lots of help and support during the course Examples of all projects and case studies to guide you up to 10 students per class
