3. VIRTAMED: Simulation Course at Summer School VirtaMed and FORTE are hosting the second European Orthopaedic Summer School followed by an exclusive simulation workshop for only 18 participants. Train your surgery skills using our VirtaMed virtual reality simulators and accelerate the time needed to gain competency. We use the original instruments to provide a complete training experience that will prepare you for the real procedure. The workshop covers the setup of the arthroscopic tower and troubleshooting, motor skill training tasks, essential arthroscopic skills exercises, and complete diagnostic and therapeutic arthroscopic interventions. Faculty will be led by Paulo Oliveira and Charles Riviere. 4. SOCIAL PROGRAMME 4.1. Afternoon Activities a) Monday and Wednesday A beach lounge gathering, water and sand sports will be held on Monday and Wednesday. A small reservation fee will be asked to those interested in the water sports activities (note: to be depending on the wind and waves conditions). Fig. 1 Beach lounge gathering b) Tuesday A boat trip through the Ria Formosa, one of the best known Portuguese natural wonders. 4.2. Evening Activities From Monday to Wednesday, dinners have social and educational purposes, in an informal and relaxed environment. Faculty will be invited to present their best and worst cases in a 5 minutes podium presentations. 5. VENUE 5.1. FARO Faro is a small and safe city, getting around by foot is quick and easy (±30 min walking from top-to-top). Getting to Faro from the Airport is at a 8 minute drive (7 km) distance. 5.3. HOTEL EVA Both courses will take place in side by side rooms located at Hotel Eva. Coffee breaks, lunches and dinners (from Monday to Friday) are included in the course fee (note: Friday lunch is not included in course fee). Free bus is provided between Hotel EVA to afternoon activities on beach. Accommodation will also be at the hotel EVA, and rooms are shared (3 single beds per room). Check in after 14h00 on Sunday (August 27 th ), and check out before 13h00 on Friday (September 1 st ).
