ACTIVITY INFORMATION The 13th Annual Women and Ischemic Heart Disease Symposium will explore gender-specific issues in coronary microvascular dysfunction, management of stable coronary artery disease (CAD), drug and device FDA approval and regulation, weight loss, and updates in diabetes guidelines and therapies. The conference will feature updates on gender medicine, menopause and perimenopause, and advances in precision medicine. An afternoon session will underscore important guideline recommendations for hypertension, cholesterol and depression, using a case-based approach. The purpose of this conference is to close the knowledge gap of physicians and allied healthcare professionals regarding gender- and sex-specific differences in cardiovascular disease, the impact these differences have on treatment options, and the importance of identifying women at risk for cardiovascular disease, by utilizing the most current evidence-based treatment strategies for optimizing patient-centered care.
