K-Snap We have partnered with the Autism Society and Support 4 Moms to run K-SNAP (Kids Special Needs Activity Program). This program is designed for children 6-12 years of age who would benefit from a semi-structured group program where they will improve on their physical fitness and social communication. 80 s Night and Thriller Night Huge THANK YOU to all our volunteers tonight for Back To The 80s YMM they ALL ROCKED IT!! These fundraising opportunities are not possible without our volunteers We had over twenty people each night take time out of their busy schedules to do coat check, sell 50-50, wait staff, sell liquor ticket, sort bottles and bartend. Back to the 80's was Battle of the Bands, (Journey and Guns and Roses with a special performance by TIFFANY!! The next night followed with Halloween Thriller YMM! Everyone had a great time, costumes were awesome, dressing up for the 80 s was like a flash back in time of great memories and our group raised well needed funds to run our programs. Social-Respite Program Engagement Session. Join us for an evening of sharing information and ideas about a potential social-respite program. Initial plans are underway for a pilot respite program for youth aged 11-18yrs, focusing on youth developing social and life skills while attending the program. The program will be accessible for youth that have a diagnosed disorder/ condition aged between 11-18 - it will not be only for youth with autism diagnosis. We need ideas, support and feedback from youth and parents to make this successful. If you are unable to attend but would like to give input or ask questions please email secretary@autismrmwb.org
Color Me Mine Having fun at Sensory-Friendly morning at Color Me Mine... Adult Social Engagement Night! We wish to invite all individuals, parents, caregivers and support workers to a series of engagement evenings regarding social programs for adults with ASD and other barriers. Join us to visit and share ideas on how we can build a social program and network in our community. We want to hear from individuals about what types of events they would like and what the needs are of the individuals that such a program would benefit. We have a goal of beginning regular events in the new year and we want to ensure what we plan is what people want! Refreshments will be served!!
2018 Heart of Wood Buffalo Leadership Awards So honoured to have been nominated for the Community Impact Award along side such amazing organizations. Dr. Tony Attwood The Autism Society was happy to be bring the Children's Autism Services of Edmonton 11th Annual Autism Conference to RMWB through the group webcast for all that can not make the 5 hour trip to Edmonton. Morning refreshments and an afternoon snack was provided. We will be hosting the additional days of the conference via webcast as well on January 24th & 25th.
