Su He Xiang Wan (cont.) Liquid Styrax Pill Chief Su He Xiang An Xi Xiang Bing Pian Penetrates through the turbidity surrounding the orifices, opening closed disorders, and restoring consciousness. Breaks up turbidity, open the orifices, and unblocks the channels and collaterals throughout the body. Mu Xiang Tan Xiang Chen Xiang Ru Xiang Ding Xiang Xiang Fu Promote the movement of qi, direct rebellious qi downward, open up areas of constraint, dispel cold, and transform turbidity. (RX = promotes the movement of qi and invigorates the xue, thereby helps alleviate pain) Assistant Bi Ba Bai Zhu He Zi Reinforces the actions of warming the middle burner, dispelling cold, arresting pain, and opening up areas of constraint. Relieves toxicity. (penetrates the turbidity without causing yu.) Sedates the Ht and calms the spirit. Tonifies the qi, strengthens the Sp, dries dampness, and transforms turbidity. Restrains the leakage of qi, it prevents the acrid, aromatic properties of the other ingred.from consuming or dispersing the normal qi. Actions: Warms and aromatically opens the orifices, promotes the movement of qi, and transforms turbidity. Indications: 1) Sudden collapse, loss of consciousness, and clenched jaw; 2) fullness, pain, and a sensation of cold in the chest and ab. Which may signal the impending sudden loss of consciousness or coma; 3)ab pain and focal distention in the chest, an urge to vomit and defecate without doing either, which n severe cases can lead to sudden loss of consciousness or coma. All of the above are accompanied by a pale complexion, purple lips, excessive mucus and saliva, cold extremities, a pale tongue with a slippery, greasy coating, and a submerged, slippery pulse.

Di Tan Tang Scour Phlegm Decoction Ban Xia Ju Hong Fu Ling Ren Shen Zhi Shi Zhu Ru Dan Nan Xing Shi Chang Pu Gan Cao Chief Ban Xia Ju Hong Fu Ling Gan Cao Zhi Shi Zhu Ru Dan Nan Xing Dries dampness and transforms phlegm, directs rebellious qi downward, harmonizes the St. and stops vomiting. Regulates the qi and dries dampness, enabling the qi to be restored to normal and reducing the phlegm. Strengthens the Sp. And leaches out dampness. Harmonizes the actions of the other ingred. and the functions of the middle burner. Breaks up yu qi, reduces accumulation, directs the qi downward, dries dampness, eliminates phlegm, clears heat, and disperses wind-phlegm in the channels. Assistant Shi Chang Pu Aromatically opens up the orifices. Envoy Ren Shen Supports the normal qi and strengthens the Sp. Action: Stiffness of the tongue and speech impairment. Indications: Stiffness or the tongue and speech impairment.

Gun Tan Wan Vaporize Phlegm Pill Meng Shi Da Huang Huang Qin Chen Xiang Chief Meng Shi Drives out phlegm. (It directs the qi downward, calms wheezing, drives out chronic, hidden accumulations of phlegm, and arrests palpitations. Da Huang Huang Qin Cleanses fire from the upper burner (Lungs) by directing it downward through the L.I. in the lower burner. Clearing fire from the upper burner to prevent it from scorching the fluids and thereby generating more phlegm. Assistant Chen Xiang Regulate the qi, rapidly directing it downward. Actions: Drains fire and drives out phlegm. Indications: Mania-withdrawal and palpitations with anxiety; or severe, continuous palpitations which can lead to coma; or coughing and wheezing with thick, viscous sputum; or focal distention and a stifling sensation in the chest and epigastrium; or dizziness, vertigo, and tinnitus. In each of these cases there is constipation, a yellow, thick, and greasy tongue coating, and a slippery, rapid, and forceful pulse. There may also be facial tics, insomnia or very strange dreams, sudden, deep pain in the joints that is difficult to describe, nodules in the neck, or a choking sensation.

Tong Guan San Open the Gate Powder Zao Jiao Xi Xin. Zao Jiao Xi Xin Scours out phlegm, opens the orifices, and revives the spirit (i.e. restores consciousness). Unblocks the channels and is particularly effective in unblocking the nose. BOTH unblock the jaw ( gate) and open the orifices. Actions: Unblocks the gate (jaw) and opens the orifices Indications: Loss of consciousness, clenched jaw, extreme difficulty in breathing, foaming at the mouth, and a pale, ashen complexion.
