About Dr. Perrin James M. Perrin, MD, FAAP President-elect, American Academy of Pediatrics Director, Division of General Pediatrics Dr. Perrin is a primary care pediatrician with a lifetime of policy work and advocacy for children and adolescents, especially those with chronic conditions. A professor of pediatrics at Harvard Medical School, Dr. Perrin heads the Division of General Pediatrics at the (MGH). He also founded and directed the MGH Center for Child and Adolescent Health Policy. His research examines day-to-day issues of pediatrics: asthma, otitis media, children s hospitalization, health insurance and chronic illness and disabilities. He now leads the Clinical Coordinating Center for the national Autism Speaks Autism Treatment Network to improve care for children with autism and other developmental disorders. Program Overview We invite you to join us for the seventh annual Developmental-Behavioral Pediatric Update: Nurturing Developing Minds, presented by GHS Children s Hospital in collaboration with the SC LEND (Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities) Program and the SC Developmental Disabilities Council. This popular conference offers a blend of research updates and practical applications on various aspects of child development. Participants can expect to take away practical tools to use immediately in their work. In 2013, a special focus will be on the development and management of interdisciplinary teams in caring for children with special healthcare needs. Program Objectives The overall 2013 conference goal is to discuss how to create and improve an interdisciplinary team approach to various developmental-behavioral disorders and chronic health conditions. Accreditation The Greenville Hospital System University Medical Center (GHS) designates this Live activity for a maximum of 6.5 AMA PRA Category I Credits. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. The Greenville Hospital System University Medical Center is accredited by the South Carolina Medical Association to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
