The Calendar updates and shares information about forthcoming events related to HIV and AIDS in the region among UNESCO colleagues, UNAIDS co-sponsors and key partners, including governments, donor agencies, NGOs, media, institutions, and private sector partners. The project provides an opportunity for teachers to develop contextspecific lesson plans on HIV and AIDS, to teach these lessons, encourage HIV prevention and to be recognized for their achievements. Teachers were invited to participate in a lessons plan competition and to submit entries. Award ceremonies will take place to recognize the best lesson plans selected in Vietnam and Nepal.
