ABSTRACT ANJAR SETIANA YUSSLIPRA WlRA. D02400073. 2004. Performance of Broiler Feed Pelleted Diet Containing With Wheat Pollard Processed By Enzyme From Rumen Liquor. Thesis. Department of Animal Nutrition and Feed Science, Faculty of Animal Science, Bogor Agricultural University. Main Advisor Co-Advisor : Dr. Ir. Nahrowi, M.Sc. : Ir. Widya Hermana, M.Si. High quality of feedstuff is very important to support animal productivity. Corn is the main energy source for broiler chickens. Due to its supply and high price probiems from local corn. We recommended wheat pollard as alternative feed of sourch energy like corn. Wheat pollard as alternative has high crude fiber that disturbs digestion for broiler chickens. So, supplementation of enzymes from rumen liquor may increase the quality of wheat pollard. More over, steam pelleting of diet containing the wheat pollard may improve its quality. The research was conducted to study of performance of broiler feed pelleted diet containing with wheat pollard processed by enzymes from rumen liquor. We were used 360 broiler chickens Arbor acres strain age 21-35 days. The animals were devided into 36 group and assigned to one of the nine diets treatments i.e : PI (Feed with enzymes dossage 0 U/kg and stearn pelleting at temperature 60 C), P2 (Feed with enzymes dossage 0 U/kg and stearn pelleting at temperature 80 C), P3 (Feed with enzymes dossage 0 U/kg and steam pelleting at temperature 100 C), P4 (Feed with enzymes dossage 620 U/kg and stearn pelleting at temperature 60 C), P5 (Feed with enzymes dossage 620 U/kg and stearn pelleting at temperature 80 C), P6 (Feed with enzymes dossage 620 U/kg and stearn pelleting at temperature 100 C), P7 (Feed with enzymes dossage 1,240 U/kg and stearn pelleting at temperature 60 QC), P8 (Feed with enzymes dossage 1,240 u/kg and steam. p.elleting at temperature 80 DC) dan P9 (Feed with enzymes dossage 1,240 U/kg and stearn pelleting at temperature 100 C). Water and feed were given ad libitum. Analysis data by completely randomized design in a 3 x 3 experiment (three enzymes supplement 0, 620 and 1,240 U/kg levels and three stearn pelleting addition at 60, 80 and 100 C) were subjected to analysis of variance (ANOV A) and contrast ortogonai test were used if there was significant difference. Result showed that addition of enzymes dossage 620 U/kg of feed improved feed convertion of broiler chickens age 21-28 days, but stearn pelleting did not improve feed consumption, weight gain and feed convertion. Combination addition of enzymes and stearn pelleting improved weight gain of broiler chickens age 21-28 days, i.e combination of enzymes dossage 620 U/kg with steam pelleting at temperatures 60 C and 80 DC. Beside that, combination addition of enzymes and steam pelleting improved feed convertion of broiler chickens age 21-28 days, i.e combination of enzymes dossage 620 U/kg with stearn pelleting at temperatures 60 C and 80 C and dossage 1,240 U/kg with steam pelleting at temperatures 80 C. During feeding trial, mortality was 0.56% or just two bird of broiler chickens death from 360 bird of broiler chickens.
It is included that performance of broiler age 21-28 days fed diet containing 35% wheat pollard can be increased through combination treatments of enzymes dossage 620 U/kg and steam pelleting at temperature 80 e. Keywords : Wheat pollard, steam pelleting, enzymes, rumen liquor and broiler.
