Abut the Directrate f Labratry Medicine (DLM) The Directrate f Labratry Medicine is a single, managed unit within the Trust with a Clinical Directr, Crprate Supprt Team and Clinical and Business Managers. The strategic planning is fr a cmpsite, patient fcused service perating frm a substantially single-site Labratry Village creating a mre efficient rganisatin based n shared equipment and technlgy. The key aims and bjectives f the Directrate f Labratry Medicine are t prvide: Integrated children s and adult analytical and diagnstic services; A safe, mdern, apprpriate and cmfrtable envirnment; A service, which is cmprehensive, interpretative, accredited and apprpriate, and respnsive t user needs; Apprpriate educatin and training t all staff and students; A quality lead and managed service; Fully perating services within all the prvisins f Clinical Gvernance; Cnditins t initiate, facilitate and undertake research and develpment; Full cperatin with Universities and ther apprpriate bdies t strengthen research. The Clinical Sciences Buildings are lcated in the Suth West crner f the CMMC site and cmprise:- CSB1 - cmmissined during 1994 prviding mdern accmmdatin fr Histpathlgy and a large Mrtuary, Clinical Research and service and university departments f Micrbilgy and Virlgy. A university student teaching area and museum is prvided n the grund flr. CSB2 - erected during 2002, huses Autlab (prviding 24hr rapid bld analyses and bld transfusin prducts), the Manchester Cytlgy Centre (incrprating the cytlgy departments f Christie Hspital and MRI), the Manchester Cytlgy Training Centre and the Manchester Medical Micrbilgy Partnership (cmprising an amalgamatin f the service and university departments f Micrbilgy and Virlgy frm CMMC, Christie Hspital, PHLS and Suth Manchester University Hspital Trust).
