Experiencing the love of Jesus Christ through the talented professional staff and volunteers at Atlanta Mission, guests are guided toward personalized success outcomes, utilizing customizable tools and services that address varied individual needs and circumstances. Atlanta Mission becomes a bridge back to community life with dignity and a new set of tools to create a future of hope and possibility. Driven by compassion in Jesus name and informed by a metrics-based, continuous improvement approach to best practices, Atlanta Mission is the city's largest and longest running provider of services to homeless men, women and children. Established in 1938, through strategic community partnerships in financial services, mental health, medical care and job retraining, Atlanta Mission provides emergency shelter, temporary shelter, recovery programming, job attainment services and transitional housing to more than 1,000 men, women and children daily. With a mission to transform, through Christ, the lives of those facing homelessness, Atlanta Mission aims to serve and lift all of those facing homelessness in the city, even those who do not come to their facilities. Programs Atlanta Mission's programs are shining the light of Christ s love to the city of Atlanta, specifically to those who are struggling with job loss, trauma, tragedy, addiction, domestic violence or any number of life-controlling issues. Atlanta Mission defines

itself by a Christ-centered culture focused on serving others so that each person would know and be transformed by Christ and grow in Him by hearing and experiencing the gospel. Through successful resource development ($10M-$12M year), in-kind giving ($3M year), revenue provided through its thrift/resale stores ($3M year) and careful stewardship ($18M endowment), Atlanta Mission helps those they serve find a firm foundation as a new creation in Christ and find the strength to make new life choices. Position Overview The Thrift Sales Associate for Atlanta Mission is a critical member of our Thrift Ministry Team. He or she will serve customers that contribute to our success. Each day Atlanta Mission receives items generously donated in order to resale in our Thrift Stores. This ensures financial revenue that allows us to provide programming for homeless men, women and children 365 days per year. This position serves an important role in our Thrift Ministry that directly impacts our ability to serve those in need in our community. The Thrift Sales Associate reports to the Henry Schonschack -Thrift Store Manager, Marietta. Responsibilities The Thrift Sales Associate will hold the following responsibilities: Overview: This position assists in daily operations of a retail store by performing a variety of duties. These include sales work to ensure customer needs are met, complaints are resolved and service is quick and efficient. Maintains store appearance and product presentation to company standards. Essential Job Functions 1. Performs sales of all types of inventory; 2. Helps maintain store appearance; 3. Meets customer needs; 4. Operates the cash register; 5. Handles incoming calls, donations, sales, and customer complaints; 6. Processes donations as needed; Desired Candidate Attributes Strong personal walk with God that is shown through actions and lifestyle; A desire to be a part of and contribute to a Christ-centered, Biblically-focused culture; A strong belief and faith in and a dependence on Christ and the ability to articulate this to others; Commitment to serve and interact with Atlanta Mission clients and guests with compassion, grace, mercy, dignity and respect; Excellent customer service skills; Known for integrity, honesty and credibility willing to walk the walk ; Well organized, diligent and reliable in following through on commitments; Proven ability to be a self-starter; Heart to serve;

High school diploma required. Must have working, experience-based knowledge of retail sales environment (thrift sales strongly preferred). Outstanding interpersonal skills, with the demonstrated ability to interface and maintain effective relationships with employees (at all levels of the organization), volunteers and others in a team-oriented environment. Outstanding conflict resolution/customer service skills required.
