Content and Communications Manager Maternity cover for 9 to 12 months We want to change the world for blood cancer patients. Your job is to help us have the greatest possible impact by developing and improving our communications. Your role will oversee internal communications (staff, volunteers, trustees, regional contacts), messaging development, scientific and patient information, fundraising communications requirements, individual giving asks, and everything in between, across every available format. Content and Communications Manager Starting salary 36,832 Contract type: 9 to 12 months (maternity cover) Team: Content & Communications Department: Marketing Location: Holborn, London Bloodwise vision Our job is to stop people dying from blood cancer, improve patients quality of life and stop people getting a blood cancer in the first place. Content & Communications Manager As part of an ambitious marketing team, you will be working closely with our Design, Digital, Media and Insight teams. You will be expected to deliver impactful communications, ensuring that we are always following a clear brief for each project that this is aligned with our strategic objectives. You will join as a key role within the Marketing Services team and together we will ensure that our supporters understand what we do, why we do it, the impact we are having and are motivated to take action to contribute towards our vision to beat blood cancer. What you ll do Understand the organisation s various audiences Lead a team to deliver informative, inspiring, engaging communications across channels and supporting campaigns, fundraising, research and patient services Help create a digital content product to house compelling content for our website. Manage, and develop content for our EDMs, while reviewing and delivering industry best practice to continue to improve this area of our communications Review, develop and share our communications plans and strategies Work with Director of Fundraising & Marketing, Head of Prioritisation & Production and Design Manager to keep developing our brand providing advice and consultancy on an ad hoc basis for effective internal comms Working with the Patient Services team, lead the Content & Communications team to deliver patient information that meets the needs of people affected by blood cancer, Support the Fundraising department to deliver engaging and effective communications across every touch point with our contacts Work with our Insight team to review, monitor, and continuously improve our communications Lead the organisation in delivering impactful, engaging communications with the patient at the heart of everything that we do Support other teams across the organisation to deliver on their marketing objectives and develop their copywriting skills Maintain the highest levels of quality in all communications by ensuring that brand and messaging guidelines, style guidelines and proofreading methods are applied consistently and effectively

Key relationships Reports to the Head of Awareness & Campaigns Management of 2 x Content & Communications Officers Proactively engages with all Bloodwise staff Our kind of Content & Communications Manager We would like you to have these: Is committed to our vision, mission and belief Is passionate about the power communications and content Is creative and inspiring and enjoys a wide range of projects You will be confident building relationships with people at senior levels Has solid writing experience for not for profits (either agency or client side) Experience using content management and email systems Experience copywriting and building content across channels (web, email, digital social, print etc) Is able to work well under pressure and be solutions focused Works well both within a team and by themselves with the ability to self-motivate Has line management experience Strong proof reading skills & impeccable attention to detail Ability to think creatively and laterally in developing campaign activations We d like you to have as many of these as possible Experience writing to support health, research and fundraising activities and campaigns Experience creating customer journeys and plans for EDMs to support activities Campaign management experience Experience working with insight team to improve and develop all aspects of web and social campaigns and activities A good knowledge of A B testing and applying it to campaigns A working knowledge of HTML Solid understanding of all social channels Understanding uses of different content formats (video, images etc) for social, email and web usage A good strategic thinker able to understand the organisational objectives and plan communications appropriately Things we all do Attend and assist at Bloodwise events and activities as required (NB this involves evening and weekend work) Be an effective ambassador for Bloodwise at any activity you attend Develop an in-depth understanding of our work Do any other reasonable things your manager needs you to do
