What was said at the last meeting We looked at the notes written after the last meeting on 18 th February. Emmajane told us she hadn t yet been able to speak to Leanne regarding the Keep Safe group but Darren Goddard from Leicestershire Police was going to give us a presentation today which would link in with Keeping Safe. 5. Updates Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland (LLR) Autism Board Feedback from the last LLR Autism Board meeting will be given at the next Partnership Board meeting. Sam Screaton (Primary Care Liaison Team) told us the next meeting of the Better Health Group would be on 20 th April 2016 at County Hall. Sam told us about her job she works with the Primary Care Liaison Nurses Learning Disability Team. They work with all the GP surgeries in Rutland. During 2015 they did a survey on how many health checks were carried out in Rutland. A new Health Check booklet has been printed off and sent to Rutland County Council. They have also been doing a lot of work about men and women being able to access cancer screening and there are now leaflets and DVDs available. They are also starting a new project about dementia as the Government want to look more closely at people with Learning Disabilities who have dementia. They will be inviting people aged 40 to 50 to have checks. The GP surgeries are signing up to this new project. Lorraine Tarratt and Sam will talk more about this at the next meeting on 28 th June. (note new date of meeting!)

Employment Gemma told us today was her last day at work as she was now going on Maternity Leave. She told us that Lorraine Tarratt will oversee Employment while Gemma is away. Gemma then told us about two events that took place yesterday (12 th April). In the morning there was a taster session called Money Management which 5 service users came to. In the afternoon there was a session called Information and Guidance for PAs in Rutland. 9 people came to this and really enjoyed it. They learned about questioning and listening skills and services in Rutland such as training and volunteering. Gemma introduced us to Olivia Fitzgerald Thompson and her mother. Olivia told us about her volunteer job working at a local primary school. She was helped and encouraged by Gemma and Social Services to do this job which she is really enjoying. She works for one and a half hours a week listening to children reading on a one to one basis. At first the children were a little intimidated by Olivia s wheelchair and asked lots of questions. Olivia thanked Gemma for the opportunity of this volunteer job. 6. Presentation: Action Deafness Jaz Mann and Mhari Simpson, together with their interpreter Adam, gave us a presentation on Action Deafness and the work they do. They are based in Leicester and cover the Central Region (Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Warwickshire & Northants) and are developing a service in Brighton and Hove. The main two services they offer are providing equipment for people with reduced or no hearing and giving people with various degrees of hearing loss support through Social Services referrals.. These services are only available for people aged 16 and above and work through Direct Payments or private funding. Jaz also told us that Action Deafness will shortly become CQC Registered. You can see this presentation on the website together with a list of equipment that Action Deafness can provide and a leaflet about Community support - see link

There are no changes at the moment but the government is doing a lot of research the results of which should be available very soon. Andrea will come back to a Partnership Board meeting again once the Government has decided what they are doing and she will update us. You can see this presentation on the website - see link

9. Presentation - Adult Social Care Strategy and Charging Consultation Alison Burrow-Smith is the Project Officer Adult Social Care. We met Ali at the last meeting in February when she told us about the Adult Social Care Strategy which is a plan Rutland County Council has made to help adults in Rutland live a healthy, independent life. This plan will last 5 years and Ali gave out an easy read booklet about this plan. Ali also told us about the Charging Consultation for Social Care that the Council have been working on. This is a form asking questions about the way people should pay for their support and social care in the future. Ali has met with Jean Heath and Jacqui Darlington and they worked together to make a better Easy Read form which she showed us. These forms have now been sent out and almost 200 have already been completed and sent back to the Council. This is your opportunity to have your say on what you think the Council should or should not charge for, so make sure you return your completed form before the end of April. You can see Ali s presentation together with the Strategy and Charging leaflets on the website - see link Any Other Business - Emmajane showed us a leaflet from Active Rutland Hub advertising an inclusive Adult Multi Sports Club which takes place every Tuesday from 11 am to 12 noon for 2 per session. Date of Next meeting - The next meeting will be on Tuesday 28 th June 2016 Please note this is a new date. The meeting scheduled for 9 th June is cancelled due to local elections taking place.
