I S S U E 04 F a l l 2 0 1 3 INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY FOR NEUROVASCULAR DISEASE (ISNVD) Neurovascular Perspectives this issue Neurovascular Perspectives Neurovascular Perspectives is the newsletter of the International Society for Neurovascular Disease (ISNVD) EDITORS Drs. Michael Dake & Robert Zivadinov The International Society for NeuroVascular Disease (ISNVD) is a non-profit professional association devoted to furthering the development of research for neurovascular related diseases including CCSVI. The society will hold annual scientific meetings and sponsor educational and scientific workshops. Target medical groups include, but are not limited to, Vascular Surgeons, Interventional Radiologists, Neurologists, Neurosurgeons, Physicists, and Technologists. ISNVD International Society for Neurovascular Disease President s Column The International Society for Neurovascular Disease (ISNVD) has many updates from the last six months to share with you. As of June 1st, 2013, The ISNVD office has moved from Detroit, Michigan to Buffalo, New York under the direction of Dr. Robert Zivadinov who is also the Society Treasurer. The new administrative manager of the Society is Mrs. Kelly Denz. Her phone number is 716-859-3579 and her e-mail address is kdenz@isnvd.org. The physical address of the Buffalo Office is 100 High Street, Suite D-2, Buffalo, New York 14203. Feel free to contact the main office if you have any questions or concerns. Mrs. Denz will be happy to help you. We would also like to share with you that since April of this year, The ISNVD Executive Committee has been having bi -weekly conference calls to discuss not only administrative and house-keeping issues but also planning the Annual Meeting. With much effort, The Executive Committee has made a lot of progress in terms of moving the Society forward as well as making it a success! There has been a big membership drive over the summer and not only have we renewed most of the members but we have been able to add some new ones. Annual membership dues were due ISNVD President s Column P.01 Administration Action P.02 Science P.03 Annual Meeting/Call for Abstracts P.04 August 1 st of this year so if you have not yet paid yours, please go to www.isnvd.org and click on the members tab to make a payment. You will need your user log-on as well as password. If you do not remember your log-on or password, please contact Mrs. Denz in the main office at 716-859-3579 and she can help you with this. Ideally, we would like to see the membership grow even more so this year! If you know of any colleagues who would be interested or are suitable candidates, please feel free to give them our contact information or have them visit the website to apply. We would be happy to consider any new candidates for membership. The Executive Committee would like to convey the fact that we are convinced now more than ever that additional research is needed to better define the role of the extracranial venous system in relation to the central nervous system disorders and aging. We would like to grow our organization by encouraging further research and studies regarding this topic. Our Society is currently the main engine in promoting the need for continuing research on studying extrcranial venous abnormalities. If you would like to make a donation to help further research, please visit the homepage at www.isnvd.org and click on the donate tab. Thank you. Drs. Dake and Zivadinov Issue 07 Fall 2013 Neurovascular Perspectives Page 1
