BOF BILA programme Stimulate and strengthen collaboration between Flemish researchers and colleagues from partner institutions through joint PhD s Either in the framework of: science sharing with developing countries or projects that strengthen the link with important international networks

BOF BILA programme Who? PhD candidate (foreign university) with UHasselt promoter PhD candidate should maintain an administrative link (appointment/position) to his/her home institution PhD candidate must comply with the UHasselt PhD regulations

BOF BILA programme Conditions Within the framework of an existing or starting collaboration with a foreign research group Check whether it is possible to deliver joint PhD s with the partner institution Start up the administration for a joint PhD

BOF BILA programme Financial support Maximum 12 months (preferably divided into several stays of max. 90 days) exceptionally 16 months A daily allowance (in case of stays < 90 days) or scholarship (in case of stays > 3 months) Operational funds Travel costs candidate (per stay) Travel costs and accomodation UHasselt promotor (1X)

BOF Short Stays incoming mobility The BOF short stay programme finances short stays for limited periods of 1 to 3 months The stay should have an added value in relation to the collaboration between UHasselt and the partner institution of the candidate The relevance of the stay for the research group of the promoter should be made evident

PhD candidates interested in a joint PhD with Université de Namur or Université de Liège With UHasselt and external (Université de Namur of Université de Liège) promoter

BOF Reserve Mandates Conditions Cofinancing for 2 years should be provided by the partner university Financial support PhD scholarship for 2 years (additional two years by partner university) operational funds
