The product is intended to be used as ingredient that is further processed and heat-treated before final consumption. INGREDIENTS Courgette 100% Declare as: Courgette (Cucurbita pepo) PROCESSING Courgettes are harvested, trimmed, delivered to the factory. Each load is sampled and assessed for foreign material and physical defects. During processing the courgettes are inspected, washed, blanched, cooled in chlorinated water, sliced, inspected, frozen (-18 C or below) and stored in bulk at 18 C or below. PACKING During packing, the courgettes are inspected before weighing and filling into blue poly lined cartons. The cartons are Best Before and Production date coded, checkweighed and metal detected, palletised and stretch wrapped before being returned to store at -18ºC to await despatch to the UK at -18ºC. 01.05.017

Foreign Material This includes any material not derived from the courgette plant or defined as EVM, such as insects, pieces of insects, wood, glass, stones, metal, sand, grit, plastic or any other material which will render the product unacceptable. Extraneous Vegetable Matter (EVM) Vegetable material derived from the courgette plant other than the courgette flesh e.g. pieces of leaf, stalk etc. Vegetable material not from the courgette plant will be counted as Foreign material. Major Blemish This includes courgette slice that are blemished to the extent that the area affected is greater than 6mm in diameter, either as a single blemish or an aggregate of blemishes on the same die. 01.05.017

Blemishes less than mm in diameter shall be ignored. Hollow Centres This includes slice where the centre of the slice is missing. Elongated Slices This includes slices where the length of the slice is greater that 1½ times its width. Broken Slices This includes slices that are broken but retain more than half their original size. Fragments This includes slices that are broken but retain less than half their original size. Skins shall be uniform and bright, medium to dark green. Full, natural and characteristic courgette flavour. Flesh and skins shall be uniformly tender and firm. Average sample 01.05.017

WEIGHT CONTROL The product shall be packed to minimum weight. METAL DETECTION All cartons shall be passed through a metal detector. The system shall be tested at least every hours using ferrous, non-ferrous and stainless steel test pieces. BEST BEFORE DATE The product shall be twenty four months following the month of packing e.g. if packed in May 017 then BEST BEFORE END MAY 019. Minimum BB date on delivery: 3 months. TRACEABILITY INFO STORAGE CONDITIONS CARTON LINERS Production date or Lot number printed on the label as well as customer order number and/or delivery date. Keep frozen at - 18 C at all times. Blue food grade polythene liner of a minimum thickness of 30µm. CARTONS Corrugated fibreboard of glued construction, no metal staples to be used. Shall be sealed using blue adhesive tape. 01.05.017
