Final charge will depend on numbers of entries, exchange rates and costs of flights. Fees can be paid via Credit Card or cash at the feature for athlete check in.

Judges for World Championships Announced We would like to welcome the following judges to be a part of the World Championships. Berangere Galoise - France, Peter Harmer - GBR, Josh Wedgwood - GBR, Trevor L Hereux - Canada, Tatsuya Yagi - Japan, Paul Shepherd - GBR, Alexandre Conte - France, Daniel O Brien - Ireland We would like to announce that this years head judge will be Josh Wedgwood and vice judge will be Peter Harmer. With the inclusion of the worlds best judges we feel we are ready to have the worlds best competition this year in Argentina. Freestyle Media Box The ICF Freestyle Committee is excited to announce that the committee has coordinated an all inclusive system for the next two world championships. This includes a media and TV production team as well as a scoring system. We have teamed up with Corner Wave Media who brought the Canada World Championships to the world. They have worked with other events such as Red Bull Rally Cross, King of the Motos and Longboard World Cups to name a few. They are a team of technical and creative media professionals and they are passionate about telling stories outside as they live outdoor adventure and breathe live production. We are very proud to be associated with this media production team and can not wait to see how many will be watching our competition come to life. We are also just as excited to announce that Wavemonkey Scoring is now part of the Freestyle Media Box for the next two world championships. The team at Wavemonkey provides fast and accurate real scoring allowing judges and scribes to simply touch a button and bring the scores to the world. We are very excited to be partnered with these two teams to bring you the best freestyle action in the world OC1 We would like to hear from you if you are planning on taking a boat and participating in the World Championships. We need to know as a priority otherwise this category may not take place. Simply message the committee via the Facebook page, including your travel date.

The Feature The feature itself is looking to be one amazing location for the worlds best kayakers to paddle on. With almost all hole moves possible it is going to be one big scoring competition. We encourage the world to come and play on one amazing feature in Argentina. Transportation There will be transportation available between San Juan and the freestyle feature every hour and a half starting from 10 days before the finals. This service is included in registration. Security of boats From October, freestyle athletes will be able to leave their boats in a container next to the feature under lock and key. This will prevent athletes from having to travel with their kayaks from San Juan to the feature every day. Meal Plan There is a meal plan from 10 Euros per day available which is a lunch which will be provided at the event area. 2017ARGENTINAKAYAK.COM

Questions about rules In March 2017, a new set of Rules and Appendixes were approved by the ICF Board of Directors. The 2017 Freestyle World Championships will be the first time these are used at an ICF sanctioned event. In order to help athletes understand the new rules and better prepare for the competition an email inbox has been created so questions about the rules can be captured and answered before the event. The aim of this is also to help the first Team Captain s meeting of the event run more smoothly. 3 Questions from each Team Captain will be accepted by email. In the subject of the email please place the country name that the question is from. All questions must be written in English. Only emails from the team captain will be accepted. Further questions will be accepted at the team captain s meeting however it is preferable that the email method is used. Please email questions to the following email address: chiefjudge2017worlds@hotmail.com It may be possible to answer some questions before the event but some may only be possible to answer once the event officials are on site at the first Team Captains meeting of the Championships. Airport Information San Juan ( UAQ ) San Juan does have an international flight, but only one and that is from Santiago Chile. This means it is highly suggested to fly via Santiago Chile to San Juan as your boat will be transferred to San Juan. If flying via Buenos Aires, you will have to pick up your boat at the international terminal and travel via shuttle bus to the domestic terminal which might work with one boat, however if travelling with two boats or a team with more than one or two boats this shuttle will be extremely challenging. This means we suggest to fly via Santiago Chile with kayaks. Ezeiza International Airport ( EZE ) Located in the Federal Capital of the Country. You must to move to AEP to take a domestic flights. It takes about 1hour to get between J Newberry Airport to Ezeiza International Airport and visa versa by Shuttle bus. If you are using Airolinas Argentinas, the shuttle should be free. Aeroparque Jorge Newbery Domestic Airport ( AEP ) Located in the Federal Capital of the Country. You need to connect another flight to UAQ. Domingo F. Sarmiento Airport ( UAQ ) Located in the province of San Juan to 10 km Accommodation of Athletes. Only receives domestic flights and one international flight via Santiago Chile. Mendoza ( MDZ ) Mendoza is another alternative. It s around 2 hours from San Juan by bus and costs approximately 25 Euro without a kayak. Mendoza is an International Airport so may have more options for connections. Santiago de Chile Airport ( SCL ) Located in the neighbouring country. Aeropuerto Internacional El Plumerillo ( MDZ ) Located in the neighbouring province, 160 km from the city of San Juan. Possible recommended connections : 1. Santiago Chile to San Juan. The easiest way to get to the worlds 2. Ezeiza ( EZE ) you must head to (AEP) by minibus or van, and then fly to Domingo F. Sarmiento (UAQ)2017argentinakayak.com
