Manufacturing Sector Profile for the Shreveport RLMA Parishes The Labor Market information (LMI) division of Research and Statistics helps provide information on various sectors in the regional economy. Reports and tables presented here can be accessed through our website at www.laworks.net/lmi. Data has been provided at the parish level where possible. Employment and Wage Trends 4 th Quarter 2015 for the Manufacturing Sector by Parish This report is based on quarterly tax returns from all employers covered by unemployment insurance. Average establishments by industry, average employment by industry and total wages that employers have paid in the quarter are presented in the following tables. Average Establishments The table below illustrates the number of firms that are in the Manufacturing Sector in each of the ten Shreveport RLMA parishes. Commuting Pattern for the Shreveport Bossier City Metropolitan Area The picture above shows the commuting patterns of workers in the Shreveport Bossier City MSA. The MSA is comprised of Bossier, Caddo, DeSoto, and Webster parishes. 32,300 (20.1%) of workers in the MSA live outside of it. 128,473 of MSA employees (79.9%) live in the MSA. 18.7% (29,545) of people living in the MSA work outside of it.
