Once again the festival is hosting a full program of piping and drumming across the whole weekend. Don t miss out on the great line up of piping and drumming themed concerts, Master classes, workshops, displays and Ccompetitions. Geelong RSL Pipes and Drums Geelong RSL Pipes and Drums was formed in July 2002 and is Geelong's only competing pipe band. Geelong RSL Pipes and Drums first entered the competition arena at Ballarat in February 2003.You will recognize the band in their Red Robertson Tartan - then will join us on Saturday. NATIONAL CELTIC FESTIVAL PIPING COMPETITION IN CONJUNCTION WITH VICTORIAN PIPERS ASSOCIATION. This competition features an extraordinary line up of pipers who are the at the top of their game. Four outstanding pipers have been selected to compete for the title of Piping Champion; Kat Belcher, Jamie Hawke, Jono Quay & Will Sincock. Fingers will be flying, feet stomping and music flowing. The sound generated from these high-class pipers will be memorable! Kat Belcher: Jono Quay: Kat is a regular at the top level of the solo and pipe band scenes in Australia, New Zealand and Scotland. She has recently joined the Hawthorn City Pipe Band and looks forward to helping the band to foster a culture of excellence and great craic! Jamie Hawke: Jamie is truly a global piper having competed regularly in Scotland, New Zealand and Australia both in Solo Piping and Pipe Bands. His record is impressive having won the NZ Gold Medal Piobaireachd and Former Winners Clasp, NZ Silver Chanter MSR and Former Winners Clasp and RU Brown Adelaide Gold Medal. Jono lived in Glasgow from 2004 to 2006 playing with the Lomond and Clyde pipe band and worked with the National Youth Pipe Band. He is a regular competitor with various accolades locally and in New Zealand, including Victorian A grade Piper of the year 4 times, winner of the Victorian Gold medal piobaireachd twice. Will Sincock: Will has competed internationally at the World Pipe Band Championships in the premier grade and solo at the Piping Live! Festival for Pipe Idol amongst the world s best young pipers. His record is impressive and has been Pipe Major and Sergeant of the Scotch College Pipes and Drums Band 2015. Currently a member of the Hawthorn City Pipe Band, Founding Pipe Major Victorian Youth Pipe Band 2015. 24 NATIONAL CELTIC FESTIVAL @ PORTARLINGTON
